  2. Congrats Parrot!:clap2: I am still waiting for mine to be approved, I hope for a surgery date early Dec. Where are you in VA, I am about to move to WV. Keep us posted on how you do!
  3. Hi, I had my first band put in as an open surgery (thats what we call it in Australia) It took me about a week to recover, it does hurt more since you do have a larger wound, try not to be to nerous as it is all worth it. Good Luck!
  4. Hi, I am new to this site, I had a band 10 years ago and had it removed 3 years ago due to slippage, Up to that point I had lost 200 pounds, My lowest weight was 143 and 3 years without the band and back up to 260! I am going to get the band again and going to see Dr Barry Greene at Shady Grove, I saw that you have to take a "test" about the surgery before he goes ahead with it, I have visions of my school days when I always went blank at test time, Has anyone had Dr Greene and what was the test like? Thanks Devon
  5. Hi Karen, I am an Aussie living in the USA, I had my first band done in Perth 10yrs ago, I had a slippage and had it out 3 yrs ago. When I got my band I was about 145kg and with the help of the band got down to 65kg, I was nervous about the whole process but once you start seeing the weight come off you wont be so worried, I have to say since i had the band removed my weight has gone back to 117kg and hope to be banded again sometime in November, feel free to e-mail me to chat, I miss Aussie and would love to chat with someone from "home" devon_96@hotmail.com
