  1. Hi there! I'm a new bander. Banded on 3/26. One week ago Wednesday. Not to discourage, but I was told I'd be ready to return to work within 3-4 days even with a slight hernia repair. That was not so. It took me a full week to even be able to function. I came back tonight to work, and right now is almost end of shift. And I have to be honest, I'm next to miserable. But! Things are different for different people. Just wanted to give you the heads up that I never got so you can prepare adequately. I wish you the best of luck and a super speedy recovery! -jfc
  2. Just curious. I am 5 days post op banding. Everytime I eat, I feel extremely nauseated. Food isn't hung- I just feel very sick to my stomach and have to lay down every single time I eat. Had anyone else experienced this??
  3. I woke up today and actually felt like a human! I've slowed down the the mushies and added in soup, and protein shakes. My nausea kicks in from time to time...but I'm actually well enough to function in the real world. Thanks for all your advice! <3
  4. My surgeon's food guidelines are a lot more lax post op than most. I was clear liquids day of surgery, next day I could move to mushies x2 weeks, and after those two weeks...regular food. I have PRN phenergan, but it totally knocks me out. I've ate very little mushy due to lack of appetite...but when I do get a little hungry, I go for some oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, etc...but it seems to upset my stomach just about everytime. It may be a very good idea to call the doc, and take it a little slower.
  5. Mushy foods. Oatmeal, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, soups, etc.
  6. Hi! I'm sort of a newbie. This is my first thread. I've just been reading all threads to see how everyone else's experience has went. I'm 24 years old. 5ft 6in. 276lbs. Female. I'm scheduled to be banded on 3/26. In a way, I'm excited to start a new life- and to put something in my mouth other than a protein shake and water- but I'm also nervous. What if I fail and don't lose the weight I want to lose? What if I don't wake up from anesthesia? What if, what if. Anyone else feel this way??
  7. I am also scheduled to be banded on 3/26. I'm really starting to get nervous. So you are not alone!!

    Its hard ????

I'm in the same boat with you. Only you are a little closer to surgery date than I am. My surgery is 3/26. I'm beginning day three of 3 protein shakes/water a day. I also have a one year old that I have to cook for and feed daily. And for the cake topper- I work nightshift- which makes it so hard to balance out when to drink the shakes. I don't really have any words of encouragement, because I'm pretty well miserable. I just replied to say that you are not alone!!!
