  4. You will do great! We are all pulling for your quick recovery!
  5. I am having my sleeve Friday, April 11th in Tijuana with Dr. Cabrera. I have done A LOT of research and I feel very good about my decision. I am SO nervous and very excited. I have been too big and sick for too long & so very tired of losing 20 pounds for 2 months and gaining 27 back... we've all been there......no more HGC, Medifast, Atkins, etc. I am so thankful we now have this as an option. I wish us all the very best luck and health!
  6. Hi everyone! Thanks so much for getting back with me, it means a lot.
  7. I work in a large company and have PTO (and here PTO does actually mean Personal Time Off - but everyone is still VERY up everyone's business) I have already put in for 1 week & 2 days & my leave has already been approved by my supervisor. Is it really necessary to use/turn in FMLA paperwork? Dr. Cabrera has already filled these in for me. If I do go with the FMLA paperwork do I have to get a doctor's release to return to work? My only concern is, what if I need more time to recover? Do you all think 11 days after surgery is enough to return to a low impact desk job - just mentally a painful!??? I'm just on the fence about the FMLA paperwork - because my HR department will tell my "big" boss who will tell everyone. Everyone on the floor I work will know and I just don't want that - I am VERY private and would like to keep it that way. I understand the HIPPA laws, but trust me - this place everyone finds out your business, even though they shouldn't - they do. When the questions start about "how are you losing weight" - I'm going to tell everyone I'm on medifast and no carbs & working. Help me please!!! FMLA - yes or no? Dr. release to return to work - Necessary? How much time do I really need to take off? What is typical time off for most?
  8. Wishing you nothing but great recovery and happiness congrats!!!!
  9. I'm in Las Vegas....having my sleeve April 11th by Dr. Cabrera in Tijuana. Like Dr. Atkinson but self pay & he is very expensive. Worth it I have no doubt. But I've read so much and done a lot of research I feel very good about my decision.
  10. Dr Ortiz at OCC. I will be at the hotel on the 10th and stay the night before surgery and then be back the 12th, 13th, and leave the 14th. I fly into San Diego then on to the Marriott on the 10th, surgery the 11th, hospital the 12th, hotel the 13th & 14th - flying home on the 15th. I'm nervous and trying to be sure I get as much information as possible before I go
  11. Yeah!!! I am happy for you. Keeping you in my prayers.

  14. I am having my sleeve on Friday, April 11th with Dr. Cabrera. I am so nervous and excited! I have done so much research and made my mind up that this is the best decision for me and my health. I am staying at the Marriott Tijuana and surgery at Hospital Mi Doctor. I am concerned about how much time I really need to take from work. Flying on the 10th, surgery on the 11th and currently going back to work on Monday the 21st. Just wonder if I need another day or two....
