Greetings all,

I am at the very beginning of my bariatric journey, last week I went to the information night at the Canberra bariatric centre and got to ask all the questions I needed to be confident in my decision to have the surgery, mostly around the risks, the best procedure choice for me and what downtime to expect . I left the session with confidence, clarity and relief. I have decided on the gastric sleeve option, I need permanent lifestyle change, this is not another diet!

Next day I booked in to see the dietician, then next day after that I booked to see the surgeon Dr Charles Mosse, I am scheduled to have the surgery 12 March, start Optifast next Wednesday.

I have found majority of friends and others I mention the surgery too are very negative, so I dont talk about it anymore, they have no idea about the internal hell I go through day in day out and I am sooo grateful this community exists and I look forward to getting to know as many as possible.
