  3. Scheduled for 2/27! It's almost here!!!! I've been on a liquid diet for almost two weeks I can tell I've lost weight cause my pants feel loose but I don't want to weight myself till surgery day! Exited and scared but mostly exited!
  4. Since starting with this process I've realized that there are some things I need and want to change about myself. My list of things are not only physical but emotionally too. Physical- I need to start working out and working on my problem areas. I need to have my varicose veins looked at on my legs cause they are getting pretty bad. Also be better organized to improve my daily routine. Emotional- Be stronger! Learn to say NO and not feel guilty about it afterwards. Learn that other people's problems are their own not mine to fix! Where there or is there any on your list of things to improve and what is it? Did the band make you re-evaluate your life not only with weight loss but everything?
  5. Congratulations!!!! Enjoy every-bit of your weight loss success!!! May be ill be able to post that one day too!
  6. Thanks everyone! I made it the whole day without eating a sandwich. I was real good and stuck to my liquid diet averaging 350 calories all day. It's so nice to hear all your stories I'm so glad I found this website. Whenever I feel like I might crack I read some of your post and my hunger/ cravings pass. Thank you for taking the time to reply it means a lot.
  7. Day 6 on my liquid diet. My surgery is scheduled 2/27. I thought it was suppose to get easier??? I woke up today really wanting a sandwich but then remembered I couldn't have it. I know this is part of a lot of changes to come. But it kinda me sad. ;(
  8. Chasing a dream - I haven't told too many people. The only ones that know I am having the lap band is my supportive husband, my mom, both my sisters, one brother and some friends. I weigh 270 pds and I'm 5'6". I've tried everything to loose weight and I'll loose some but it all comes back with a vengeance and then some. It was all a reality check when i found out my sister who is 80 pds smaller than me was told she had high cholesterol and high blood pressure. It shocked me I'm lucky I am still healthy and I don't have anything wrong with me yet. So I decided this is what I need to do to be there for my husband and kids 20 years from now. The issue arose when my friends and my brother can't really understand why I am getting it. I've been called lazy, telling me I'm taking the easy way out and one friend even told me even if you loose all the weight you'll just be smaller because you got the lap band not because you really tried. The rest of my family doesn't know because someone we know had the lap band done and it didn't really work for her so I don't want any more negative opinions. I feel like I'm really emotional right now and don't want the bad judgement cause I don't know how I will react. Normally I'll sit there and try to help them understand but I think in the state I'm in I'll break down. Who knew not eating can make you so emotionally unstable???
  9. I am finally scheduled for my lap band surgery which is gonna be 2/27. Im exited but nervous!!! I hope me body reacts well to it. I need some help. I have two questions how did you guys react to negative opinions from friends and family about getting the lap band? And also this is my fourth day on the liquid diet it's been tough but doable, however the strange thing is every time I go #2 it's super greasy and liquidy is this normal??? I know GROSS but figured ill ask. Thanks in advance!!!
