    3 month Post Op Check

12 VIALS?! OMG that sounds like a lot. I only have 4 taken when I go. Well it's part of the process I guess. That is awesome, 48lbs! Nevermind your BMI!!! That is amazing. I can't wait for my BMI to be on the normal range as well. Not quite there yet but one step at a time. I wish you the best of luck and continued success on the WL!! I know isn't that crazy 12 Vials!!!.. I hope he's mistaken because I think I'll pass out lol. I read what you said about exercising and loosing I have the opposite happen when I exercise too much I stall maybe because of muscle building but it becomes discouraging. You are doing great so keep up the good work. Good luck to all of us in this adventure!!

    3 month Post Op Check

I had my 3 month check up yesterday and the doctor gave me the prescription for labs. He said they will take like 12 vials of blood so I'm definitely not looking forward to that. On the bright side I'm down 48 pounds (in total) and my BMI is 27 so I'm very close to a normal BMI. This was very good news specially after being on a 2 week stall.

    Surgery april 8...excited!

My surgery was also April 8th and since then I have stalled twice. Both times I have tried to change what I eat to make sure I'm getting enough protein and or water and that got the scale moving the first time but not the second so then I tried something different I tried eating a lot of very small meals throughout the day to keep my metabolism going all day and since then the scale has been moving without a problem. Let's hope it stays that way. Good luck to everyone!!

    A Jealous Friend

I had something similar happen to me so I know how you feel. My best friend for about 15 years and godmother of my son said something similar to me. I recently had the surgery (2 weeks ago) and another friend of hers had it about a year and a half ago and her sister in law had it almost a year ago. Out of the four of us my friend was the thinnest although she was overweight and I'm not much bigger than her. Last weekend we were at a birthday party and when I asked her if she wanted a cupcake that my son brought over to me which I of course could not eat she said no because she was on a diet. I was shocked because she's never on a diet. She then proceeded to tell me in front of her other friend who also had the surgery that she was now on a diet because with all of us getting surgery there was no way she was going to be the "fat one" now. At the moment I laughed but later felt bad about her comment because then I realized that although we were both overweight she always felt like she was ok because she was the "thin " one which meant that even to my BFF I was the fat friend. That kind of hurt but like the previous person mentioned I was glad that she is my friend and said this to my face rather than to be thinking this and basically working against me behind my back. From now on I will not share details of my weight loss with her. My success will be obvious so I don't need to rub her face in it and deep inside I will be happy in the end when I am the "thin" one and if she can't handle it well that's on her. I never compared myself as the thin or the fat one with my friends but if that's the way she chooses to see it then so be it. Those are her feelings and she will have to deal with it. So to you I will do the same. Find someone else to confide in about your weight loss journey so that when you do speak to them you don't have to think in the back of your head is she feeling hurt or jealous right now?..

    My journey begins

Hello everyone I am now 10 days post-op and things do get better and better everyday. A nurse from the hospital has been calling me to check on me on during the last call on Tuesday (8days post-op) I told her that I felt ready to try puréed foods and she said that if I felt ready to go ahead and try it ( my dr. Is on vacation that's why I asked her). Since then I have been eating puréed foods and I feel much better. My body needed some real food in its system. These are my stats so far : Height 5' 7" Starting weight 221.5 Surgery date (after 2 weeks pre-op diet) 208 Current weight (10 days post op) 198.5 Good luck to everyone and I forgot to mention I'm still unable to drink my Protein shakes they just taste so nasty to me and I am still struggling to get enough liquid in. I just have to be more diligent about the Water.
