  10. OK... I'm super excited. I sent in all my paperwork on Friday. My patient navigator was on vacation until today. She submitted my paperwork at 10:30 today and called me at 11:45 am and tells me I was approved by BCBS. Now I'm waiting to schedule everything. Did not realize it would go this smooth. I was terrified at first but now I feel like this is all God's plan. Yay me!!

  14. Hello everyone. I am considering getting the sleeve done. In the beginning I wanted to get the lap band done because it is safer and if I do not succeed, hey I can take it out. Well after meeting with my surgeon and the psychiatrist, they both recommended the sleeve. I am not sure about the sleeve. My fears are they are first and foremost taking out my stomach. Who does that? What if I need that portion for something? and then the data is not up to date as far as I can see. Places I have looked say that there is not sufficient data on the sleeve. Also, the death rate scares me. I need help!! Anyone with words of wisdom and/or advise is more than appreciated. I am 379 pounds, married with 2 beautiful toddlers that I want to be able to spend the rest of my life with. So should I be afraid? HELP!!!
