  1. I learned a great come back and it makes people think everytime and often embarrasses them. "Ouch! That hurt! Where were you going with that?" Puts it back on their rudeness!
  2. I went to Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico. He's great! The nurses spoke great English, and it was the cleanest hospital I've ever been in. The Lap-Band is a practice makes perfect surgery, and Dr. Rumbaut has placed thousands. He even has one himself, so he knows about the Band from that perspective as well.
  3. Ah, I feel your pain. I had horrible morning sickness all 3 pregnancies. I had my band the last pregnancy. I drank the Ginger ale with no problems and it wasn't flat. I would suggest just testing a couple of sips and see how it sits with you. Good Luck!
  4. That's awesome! Small world!
  5. Thank goodness I've never PB'd. I've had to have some emergency spit sessions in the bathroom, but have never brought anything up that's went down. We are all so different.
  6. I have no problems with carbonation. I have no problems burping, lol. I've had the Band for 5 years and I have great restriction, so I'm not worried that my pouch has stretched. I do find that bottled or canned carbonation is "stonger" than fountain drinks, and I never liked it that strong even before banding, so I often shake up my diet coke bottles if I have one and gently let the bubbles out. It's true that the sweeteners in diet drinks are not healthy for us. For that reason, I try to limit it, not because of the carbonation. Just remember, that they do use the same sweeteners in Crystal light and other low/no calorie non-carbonated drinks. Hope that helps. And like the others said, everyone is different. I have a friend who is 8 years out, and has no problems with Carbonation either. She can eat more than me, but can't drink Water and lie down. I can drink water and lie down. It's funny, but it shows we're all different. Mindy
  7. People close to us who don't support our banding decision are called intimate sabotagers (sp). Often times they love us and are worried about us. But more often, they may jealous of the changes that are ab out to happen. Sisters, women friends & co-workers often get intimidated by how great we're feeling and looking. Husbands/Boyfriends/Partners may be jealous of the newfound attention you will be attracking and feel a little insecure. That's not always the case, but it happens. We just have to know that what we're doing is our choice and who knows better what is best for us, but us? Good luck! Mindy
