    vomiting..help!

I definitely suggest giving your surgeon's office another call. You should be able to get some solids or soft foods in without sliming or PB'ing. I would also really work on getting in the liquids... A LOT of liquids. When I got the stomach flu last fall, I ended up really dehydrated. When I am dehydrated, my band is MUCH tighter. Hang in there and Happy 40th!

    Don't know why...

He is a cool guy and the first one at OH that I chatted with, that helped me out, and I love his Lapband 101 and 102. He told me about this website and I am so glad he did. I LOVE the layout and the fact that it is a group of lapbanders talking about the lapband. The drama here is in a separate place that I can go to if I want to. Some of it is fun to read and some of it reminds me of how thankful I am of the sane and boring little world I live in.

    SAHM VS Working Mums

I was a school teacher before I had my son, now 5. My husband and I were able to financially work things out to allow me to stay home with him and our now 2 and 1/2 year old daughter. After my first year at home we realized we needed extra income. I open a daycare and now have my own business. I have 3 wonderful families that entrust me with their children during the day and they and their children have become my extended family. Two of the moms would rather work outside the home (after both having the opportunity to stay home for the first year). It is hard being home all day with your children and hard being away from your children all day. I love having the opportunity to be with mine right now, but as soon as they are school age, I do plan to go back to teaching and hopefully will have the best of both worlds....interaction with adults and coming home around the same time my children do. IMO...it is a decision that has to be made by the parents. If one is able to stay home with the kids, great, if neither are or choose not to...great..that gives business to us daycares!

Anyone see this in the news?

There was a story like this a few years ago. I couldn't get it out of my head either. The story had something to do with a newborn/young baby that was still turned around in the seat and the parent being sleep deprived. She also forgot the baby in the car on an incredibly hot day and the baby died. Being a daycare provider it was a BIG eye opener and I ALWAYS call my parents if they don't drop their child off within an hour of their normal time now. It is so sad and I can't imagine the guilt, heartache, and sadness that the family is going through.:cry

    Don't know why...

Hi Wendell, I am sitting here cracking up reading some of these posts about OH. Thanks for telling me about LBT. I have met some nice people and it is good to see you out and about again. Yes, still checking the OH site and still have friends there(BUT COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHERE MANY HERE ARE COMING FROM>> ROFL AT THE COMMENTS). I looking forward to meeting many new bandsters here!

    New Around Here!

Thank you and congrats on being newly banded. The first few weeks were hard, but were also a great way for me to "detox" off of carbs. I was lucky enough not to have to do the pre-surgery diet so wasn't in quite as much "lapband hell" as a lot of people talk about. Mushies were great and I also looked forward to them. Good job on your weight loss so far and thanks for the welcome! Take care of yourself and don't overdo! Looking forward to getting to know you.
