  1. I recently (December 19, 2013) had my band removed. I have acid reflux and other issues that opening the band completely did not fix. I tried and held on and held on. Finally, I had it removed. I really did not want to do this, but my reflux is gone and I am sleeping for the first time in years. However, I totally understand how you feel. It is like removing a vital part of yourself! I am learning to live without my buddy, and hope I can work it out. When I had my band put on, I lost all feeling of hunger or fullness. I literally have not felt hunger or fullness for years. One of my big fears was that this sensation would return. It has not returned. However, I am finding it is much easier to eat, which is not a good thing. I am going to have to be very mindful and eat very slow. I am forcing myself to look at this as a new adventure. I have started walking a great deal and focusing on moving. My big issue is not having a sense of feeling full. I have really portion out my food because I don't have hick-ups when I am full. I wish you the best and keep up your spirits! We will work on this together! Kellie
