  1. Because tenacity is what it will take for us to make it work for us. My surgery date is the 8th of October. I can hardly wait; at the same time I'm having second thoughts, mostly brought on by a comment made by the surgeon of another poster that he didn't do bands on people over 55, they didn't have enough good miles left. First I got angry, then I thought, maybe it is silly to spend so much money (I'm a self-pay) for this at my age of 67. Except for my fibromyalgia and arthritic hips, I'm a young 67. What do you all think?
  2. This is good to hear. I'm scheduled for Oct 10th, and I've started thinking about my age (67) and wondering if that's just too old. But I'd like to have that extra 7 years they keep talking about, and I'm dealing with Diabetes, Fibromyalgia and arthritic hips and knees. Seems like losing 100 pounds would make life a lot easier.
  3. I'm curious. Based on your comment, I went to HMR and looked at their shakes and labels. In their promotional material they claim no trans fats. Yet a prominent ingredient is partially hydrogenated soy bean oil--definitely a trans fat. I find this somewhat disturbing. Do you know any more about this?
  4. My banding date is Oct 8th in TJ. Currently I weigh 235. My goal is 145. I have high hopes.
