  1. Ok, so I've been on this site for a few months and I've heard many talk about numerous doctor visits. I've had one preop visit, one psych call, one meeting with the nutritionist , and I have one appt to get labs before my 5/5 surgery. Should I be meeting with the doctor more often?
  2. It's getting late in California will post again soon
  3. No meds for me I think I can do it.. Def need support though
  4. I was really honest with my Doctor and nutritionist and they seemed to have no issue with it but said I need to quit. I want to be nicotine free at least a month before. Omg no smokes, cocktails, or food what's left?
  5. I know right I've been a casual smoker for 15 yrs too, but need to quit and still need to quit! I'm planning for 3/21 as my last smoke!! Let's stop together
  6. I only met w my doctor once for a consultation and haven't met with him since then. I don't know who to ask about this... The nutritionist I saw looked like she weighed 90 PDs so can't ask her...
  7. I started this journey last Nov and noticed I have been eating more ever since. Just got my approval for May 5th. Worried about being able to sustain the weight loss...
  8. Amen to that!!!! My hubby is the same way. You're fat??...don't eat.... That's his solution. Of course he's not as callous as that but that's what I hear. I don't have any support for those that I would expect to. My mom and sisters only see the complications not the good. I thank god for this site and other people who just GET what I'm going through! You can do this ! We all can!!!
  9. This is so crazy! I agree with everyone's comments but why are we so worried about what others will say?! If someone had cancer no one would say "do you really want to do chemo...?"
  10. Ok, so I've been thinking about this for a while... Do I want to be thinner for me or so that others treat me better??? The other day someone cut in front of me in line and no one seemed to care because she was thinner than me...
  11. I look forward to not feeling so embarrassed about my body! Never did it during the day....
  12. I was approved!!! Surgery may 5th!!
  13. M still preop and waiting to hear an approval from insurance. Has anyone been denied for disclosing that they smoke? I was very honest w my doctor/psych/nutritionist about being a casual smoker(1x/week) but now I'm worried this could cause a denial...
  14. Omg this scares me so much! I have thin hair already and this will not be a good thing for me. I know this sounds terrible but since I'm not telling anyone about my WLS I don't want anyone to suspect my health is failing as a result of the hair loss. Does anyone have an experience they want to share?
  15. I've been looking forward to feeling " confident" with the lights ON! Not there yet but maybe someday...
  16. Yea I agree my son is pretty bright so he will notice a difference and ask questions. I need to tell him something so he doesn't ask me In public about my weight loss
  17. My son is turning 7 in March. Should I talk to him about the surgery? I'm sure he's noticed his Mom is fat ...
  18. Wow how much is he eating ?
  19. Wow! You look awesome! But we're pretty before too. Did I really need to say that?!
  20. This is something I worry about constantly. I know how to be the fat friend ( the one everyone ignores) but the one people want to talk to... I don't know how to do that...
