  1. sO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU. My BF bought us a house in Livingston, Montana. We spent some time house hunting and driving. Livingston is about 1100 miles from here in Silver City New Mexico. Once we got back here, I've been getting stuff ready to take up North in July. It's 3400 sq. ft. and I have to figure out how to survive for 3 months in a giant empty house. Now we have two houses to drain us of all our money and figure out how to double up on everything. I've been doing real bad on my weight. I've gained back several pounds. I really need a fill and not the time to get one. The other day I started a thread about fills in Bozeman, MT (about 25 miles from Livingston.) Got some good referals and met someone who lives in tiny little Livingston!!!!! OH and decided that I need to attend to my diet, excersize and friends at Lapband. Anything new for you? Hows the weight loss going? :smile2:
  2. PHYLL & INDIGO GIRL Hi, hows it going?
  3. Thanks for the doc. name. How much does he charge?
  4. WOW, that is so cool. We bought an older house on Summit street that is protected somewhat by the winds, but has incredible views. It's sort of a 2nd home. This year I'll be there from beginning of July until beginning of OCT. I had my surgery done by Dr. Gonzales in TJ Mexico last Sept. I'm down only 20pounds and have 35 to go. I do need to get on a diet and get a fill.
  5. Thanks. But I wanted to do a fill as c lose to Livingston as I can.
  6. :smile2:Thanks Tiggie. We just bought a house in Livingston and will be heading up there in a couple months (from New Mexico). 3 hour drive is no problem.
  7. Anyone know of a good fill doc in Bozeman, Montana? I will be spending the summer there an need a fill?
  8. Everyone seems totaly positive about Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora, Colorado. He does seem like a good guy. Best thing is to go to the doctor/hospital thread and read what people have to say about the different Colorado docs. :cursing:
  9. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. How's your weight loss doing. Mine has stayed the same..no loss. There's a cheap ticket special for a few weeks and I was thinking about going in for a fill. I seem to be able to eat a lot more than I use to even though I still PB a lot. Think the PBing is with certain foods. Have you gotten another fill since last I saw you? Actually the new house is a 2nd house. I love New Mexico and my BF loves Montana. So we will be splitting the year up. I'm a bit afraid the expenses of owning a 2nd may be tough for us. And yes Jerry bought a house in Livingston MT. It closes on May 27. It's a big one...3250 sq Ft. The downstairs (about 1600 sq. ft) is finished with a daylight window. We will rent it out if the costs become too much. Do you know where everyone is hanging out? I can definately feel the difference when I chat/post and have the support from others than when I stop my involvement with other lap-banded people.:cursing:
  10. Hi, from Silver City, NM. I lived in Albuquerque area for over 13 years, Corrales. My kids & grankids all live in ABQ. I divorced my husband in 2001 and moved to Silver City with my BF. Love New Mexico. I fly from Tucson to San Diago for my fills (in Tiajuana, Mexico. Dr. Gonzales). Had my surgery in Sept 2007. I've been on lapbandtalk.com since before the surgery; except lately: I'm guilty of ignoring my diet and of posting on LapBandTalk. My BF wants to buy a house in Livingston Montana and I have been sooooooooooooooo busy looking for one. We'll use it for a summer house and head back to New Mexico for winter. We're heading out Monday morning for Montana. We'll just sit there in the RV until we find just the right house for both of us. I like Victorian and he likes practical. I won't be using the net unless I find a wifi connection.

  12. PB too much HI everyone. I've been gone for a bit. How is everyone? Hey, does anyone know what the syptoms of Espagael Dilation is? Like the smiley says, I PB too much.
  13. BTW, I did lose one pound recently.
  14. Jerry found a house but they refused to come down on price, so we are still looking. It is in Livingston, Montana and is for the summer and times that Jerry wants to fish, canoe or snow ski. We live in Silver City, New Mexico which has a perfect climate year round and is about 1200 miles from Livingston. Funny thing, I had just stopped by the slow losers thread for the first time. I too know that it is my own fault. I'm wondering about using self-hypnosis tapes to hopefully create some motivation.
  15. NewBlew, I guess our bodies absorb some of the liquid in the band. Congrads on the second fill....each fill gets us closer to the 'sweet spot'. They counter offered and Jerry (BF) accepted. This house is cute to the max. It's a turn of the century home (1900) and has been completely updated by the contractor/owner. The exterior os soft yellow with a new blue (now, that just hit me as funny...your handle is newblew) metal roof on house, garage and studio. A white picket fench surrounds the perimiter. The inside has hardwood floors (including kitchen). Woodwork is the original painted white with pale gold walls. It has bay windows and window seats....all that romantic 'little cottage with picket fence' stuff. EXCITING Judy, your 40 pds in 4 months is a wonderful rate of loss...All I've lost is 20pds in 6 months!!!!!!
  16. HI, wow you are doing really well on your diet/weight. I've been having a bit more than usual problems with keeping food down though I am doing all the right stuff. I do fine with liquids (unless I try to drink something right after I eat). Think I should go on a liquid diet for a while. My boyfriend is buying a second home (for summer) in Livingston, MT. We've been working on finding one. We found the perfect one. This afternoon we will be putting an offer on it. How R U doing?
  17. You'll be so happy to see that scale go down and not up without having to starve yourself..............
  18. Actually these things are not much to worry about. If there are certain foods that you find you cannot eat then you just eat other foods. Like I found a problem with broccoli so I just eat the heads and not the stems. I found that it is the stems that bother me. Also a lot depends on how tight your band is. I want mine tight because I love to eat toooooo much. Other things that bother me is beef and such that I don't chew well enough. The chewing is a big thing that helps you spend more time eating and thus eating less. Thus the really cool thing is that you do not have to deal with hunger the way you have to before banding. Also you just cannot eat as much at a meal as before the banding, when you get your band tight enough. That shoulder pain is what some people get after surgery with in the first few weeks because of the gas they put into your abdomin for the surgery. I myself never had it and the gas resolved itself very quickly. The shoulder pain goes away quidkly. Hope this helps.
  19. Hi All. I've been busy looking for a house in Montana. BF wants to buy a second home there. Looks like we will be snow-birding. CaliforniaNurse it is getting time for me consider getting another fill. There are certain foods that I cannot eat at all but, of the ones I can eat, I eat too much and have not lost weight in a while. YEP, love to eat...that's me.
  20. Hi, glad to hear you are feeling better about yourself and the band. I know some people lose weight very fast after surgery. Mine is very slow. But, that is what the doc wants and it's a lot b etter than before I had the surgery and I could not get the scale to go down or if I did, it would jump right back up. I did see the doc and it is sort of no news. :thumbs_down:The big thing right now is to try and regulate my blood pressure. It's mainly been way to low (92/53) and when i cut back on the BP meds it raises way up too high. So I have a new BP monitor and I monitor it often and take meds accordingly.
  21. I have a Mexican surgeon, Dr. Gonzales in Tiajuana. He's done many many lap band surgeries. He and his team are friendly and very profesional. I had my surgery last Sep. and return to him for fills. His web address is Lap Band Surgery, more than 2,500 successful procedures. There's a thread for him here at LapBand Talk. His patients hang out there and is a good place to ask them about their experience. His price is around $7500 which includes everything and all future fills. I fly there to get my fills. If you don't want to go with Mexico, there is a USA doc in Colorado that his patients love and his price is very fair. He has a thread...his name is Dr. Kirshembaum.
  22. I think your problem is like a lot of us. We just love food. But, after a few fills the band prevents us from over eating. And since you are chewing your food much more and eating slower, You get a feeling of satisfaction, like you do with a big meal. You'll see, I bet you do great!!
  23. PHYL I thought Palm Springs was like a desert and very hot. WOW snow. We woke to 4" of snow yesterday. Live in Southwestern New Mexico. SUECASB Congradulations. The gastric banding surgery isn't much of anything. Bariactric surgery where they cut away part of stomach and intestine...Now that is probably a super terror one.
  24. WASA I have not heard of anyone who wasn't very happy with Dr. Gonzales. YES, being close to the border makes a big difference. Some one picks me up at airport in San Diego or at the border. I wouldn't want to walk around very much on my own. Dr. G's clinic is right close to the border. Another plus for me is that I can take a flight to San Diego for around $150 for my fills. I hear the cost of fill doctors can be very high....much more than that air-ticket. Where is Monterrey, down by the Gulf?
