  1. Mine and hubby's surgeries were on 8th and everything went smoothly. We are back home and doing quite well. One week follow up post op he was down 37 from one week pre op and I was down 27. Don't go back until end of August. So happy we made this change!

  3. Okay... so our surgery date had to move cause doc is out of town. We are now set for the 8th. Hubby will go first and doc will leave hubby's OR and come into mine. Yes we are nuts but that is why we love each other, and it works out better for my work schedule to take off once and not twice. :-) That and doc prefers to have couples done on the same day.
  4. Good luck and happy easy recovery!

  7. I ordered one from laurenshope.com for each member of my household as we each have our own issues :-)
  8. I just finish my 6 month journey as well and have my date for July 3rd. I started my 6 months in December 2013. I had 6 visits with surgeon, 1 with nut, and 2 with psych (one for test and another for results of test) There was an endoscopy, a pulmonary test, EKG, and labs that I had to do. Hubby, who is going thru the process with me, had to have a stress test for cardiac clearance. It will go A LOT faster than you expect. I remember thinking back in December and January that it felt like the whole process was taking forever, but it gives you time to mentally prepare and start working on the habits that you will need for post-surgery. (No straws, slower eating with smaller bites, etc)
  9. Our date is July 3rd. Hubby had the referral and it was our original plan for him to have his, go through his recovery and then I would start my 6 month insurance journey. Our surgeon had other plans though when he found out I wanted the surgery too. He prefers to have couples go through the process together so they can support each other. Every appointment, every step of the way has been together and it is AWESOME! Hopefully, from what has been hinted, hubby and I will be able to have the same hospital room post-surgery... **crosses fingers** if not it will just be my motivation to get up and walk. :-) Can't wait to swap stories and see how your surgery goes!

  11. July 3rd here for hubby and myself
  12. I am still pre-surgery so I can't provide any insight, I just wanted to say congrats on the precious addition!
  13. My husband and I had the same issue. We were approved and offered a date 14 days later, however we were going on vacation 7 days after the proposed surgery date. We decided to enjoy ourselves and relax on what we are calling our last "fat-cation"
  14. July 3rd here! Hubby and I will be having surgery the same date. He will be having his RNY first and then I will get sleeved! SO EXCITED!
