    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Jen-congrats! I know how that feels. I was in a 30/32 top and 26/28 pants. A month ago I finally broke down and bought a couple pairs of jeans, bras, tops and undies to get me through plus I had clothes I hadn't worn in years. It was exciting to fit in a 22/24 top and 22 pant. Now my tops look to big and I can put my new jeans in without unbuttoning or unzipping them. Not ready to shop again mainly because this road trip could get expensive! Cwang- I was in a stall for two weeks didn't lose a pound but gained 2. I replaced a couple meals with shakes and boom. Lost 5 lbs + the 2 I gained. Choices are important and when life throws a curve we have to make accommodations around it to continue. Everyplace you go will change their menu if you ask. Order the burger without the bread and get lettuce instead. Always have fruits on hand for snack, buy high protein shakes to get through a hunger period and never eat fast. I have a family who does not need to go through this journey with me but they are without realizing it. I cook for all so they eat what I make even if it's low calorie or fat free as long as it's tasty they don't know the difference. Example- made chicken teriyaki skewers last night with corn on the cob and baked potatoes. I loaded the skewers with veggies to grill, zucchini, all colored peppers, onions, chicken and squash. I ate two bites of corn, a quarter potato and a quarter of my chicken skewer. I have at least 2 more meals for me out of it and my family (3 grown men -22 yr old 6ft son- 20 yr old 6'3 son-and hubby) loved the dinner. I know this is a long post and I apologize I am feeling positive today and still very excited about my decision I hope everyone else is. Oh and as a suggestion I have gotten a lot of recipes from web site "Food Done Light". Great recipes for foods you eat just less calories and still have good taste to them.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I have not made it a secret I have had the sleeve done when people ask. I have been with my company for 15 years and most know I have struggled with lupus so I am used to the personal questions. I have only been bothered by it once so far in this process. I had a co worker notice I colored my hair darker so he decided to yell across the room with many individual's present. "So does the gastric sleeve make your hair darker too?" It bothered me because he put my business out there. It should be my choice.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I have been in a stall for two weeks. Anyone have any tricks that got them out of their stalls and back on track? Thinking about going back to only protein shakes for a week to see if that helps.

Woohoo that is awesome! Everyone is looking so good. I need to get some side by side pics done. Haven't done any since the night before my surgery. Gotta get the hubby to take some for me. This is what I have I can take on my own.

McKinney is pretty close. Some of my coworkers live out in that area. Jen I am very sorry to hear about your mom she will be in my thoughts on her road to recovery. So happy to hear about everyone's success. I agree we may be slow losers but on the right track to keeping it off completely!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I work in the city of Irving. Live in the Keller area. Been in Texas for about 10 years now and still discovering it's vastness. I am 11 weeks out and am down 68lbs since preop liquid diet. Have good weeks and bad weeks in loss. Averaging 4-6lbs per week. I would love for it to be higher but every bit helps.

I have no idea I never thought to ask my dr who is very conservative on taking anything other than vitamins or my allowed meds.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hey everyone. I have par taken in a drink here and there. I used to drink whiskey and diet soda and had a pretty high tolerance to it. Not so much these days. While no soda for me. My dr is against it and not thrilled with the alcohol either so I met him halfway and had whiskey and water. My tolerance is nothing so half a drink is all I can do. I joined a gym today very excited about it. I have been pestering my dr to allow more than walking and light cardio and finally got it. First training session with trainer Tuesday. So glad for this sight and all the suggestions and support there is from others going through this. Much success to all!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

In my second stall-blah. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get out of the stall? I have not lost anything in 9 days. I also see comments on the site about slider foods can anyone offer insight as to what they are so I can avoid them? I finally had some pasta and rice and surprising enough did not upset my stomach at all just made me full faster even with the little amount I had. Not something I will so often but wanted to see if I could. Getting my protein in but still struggling with fluid intake. 2 months out and 50 lbs down. I have a long ways to go but my goals are 15-20 lbs a month. Stalls are not helping

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Good morning all. Well I am glad to report after a slow two weeks I finally dropped 6lbs. My goal has been 4-6lbs per week but I keep telling self not to get frustrated it can get made up. I have been drinking a cup of bold coffee everyday. The warmth and caffeine have been helping with the bathroom issues and becoming regular. I think this is also the longest I have ever gone without a bread product. Having trouble getting all my water in lately. My focus is to do better on that. Glad to see all the progress everyone is making. Anyone, like me, and refusing to buy new clothes? I want to be 80lbs down and have a ways to go.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hi everyone. Hope all is well. Got my measurements done yesterday. A friend said it's a must do because inches can come off even when you don't see the large number pounds loss. It freaked me out but I had to do it. My friend has had 14 years of success after having the gastric bypass and my coworker had theirs done in September and both swear measuring does show results. It's great having this site and people who have gone through this for suggestions and support. Down 5lbs this week and I have been told "honey you can't wear those pants anymore, looks like you have a load in them". They took a picture and OMG it did! They were my tight skinny jeans. Now not so much. Very exciting.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

5 weeks post op appointment today and while I I was in that stall for week 3 & 4 I think I am back on track. I communicated my concerns today and was pretty much told don't over think it I am down 47 lbs since preop liquid diet and 32 since surgery on the 10th. Dr said your averaging 6 lbs a week how can you be upset with that. She was right, when she put it that way, it put a whole new perspective on things. I was putting too much pressure on myself. It's hard to look in the mirror and see any drastic changes as I still have so far to go. Even though my clothes are fitting better and people at work have asked "have you lost weight" I was looking for that immediate gratification. I write this to tell everyone this is a new life style and a new way of thinking with ups and downs. Keep on your path, eat small frequent meals, get in your fluids and pay attention to what seems to bother your new stomach and way of life. Most of all have patience we didn't get this way overnight and it won't be fixed overnight. Good luck and success to us all-S.K.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well after your feb sleeve. Has anyone gone back to drinking caffeine/coffee? During the liquid preop and my post op it was a no no on my allowed items. I am missing my morning coffee pick me up. Never was a soda drinker but def miss the coffee. Decaf is not the same.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

30 days since my surgery. Total of 40lbs since preop diet. In a stall this week. I have to keep myself away from the scale or I am tempted to weigh myself daily which gets me frustrated. It's like it calls out my name. On soft foods now but find myself feeling empty or hungry I guess every couple of hours. Is this normal. While I can only eat a couple ounces at a time I feel like I am eating too many times throughout the day. Getting my fluids in daily has been my biggest challenge though. I have to remind myself to drink more frequently. I do have to say I am thankful for this thread, I don't post on all the comments but do enjoy hearing about everyone's progress or the insights people have to give, so thank you to you all you have made this journey for me so much easier.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Sammy thanks for the insight on the protein shake it sounds yummy and right up my alley. I must have found a dozen or so recipes in my search for my "stage 3 diet". I have 2 weeks of puréed foods with 60-80 grams of protein to get in. I move on to soft foods and 90 grams of protein after. I have had a pretty easy go of the stages thus far. Just learning when I am full and how much to have vs not have when drinking. I don't have the typical medical issues that come with obesity. I have low blood pressure, normal cholesterol and normal sugar. I considered myself a pretty healthy eater. It was the quantity of healthy food that has done me in and my lupus which consists of lots of steroids when put of remission. Protein makes you feel fuller so any advice I can get on making sure I get my protein amounts in I am going to try. Thanks again!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hi everyone. I have been reading this thread and it is interesting to see how differently everyone recovers and the diets their Drs have them on. I was sleeved on the 10th of February. Was on clear liquids first week and have been on full liquids protein shakes and strained soups for the past two weeks. I am excited to say I have lost 35 lbs and am moving on to puréed foods Monday. Searched the net for a bunch of recipes and bought all my items today for my next stage. Protein intake has been the difficult part for me. So glad their are others to follow and read progressions on. Good luck to everyone through this journey.
