  1. I would definitely talk to your surgeon. The psychologist is not your doctor. The decision about which procedure you should get is up to you and your surgeon. Besides, if the psychologist said you were a good candidate then that is all that matters. Don't get discouraged. It will all work out! Stay positive and stay focused!
  2. I, too, have been watching this show. I find it to be very encouraging and helpful. I saw a lot of myself in Penny. I am an emotional eater. I have been working hard to get it under control and in the past I would find excuses to eat and then complain about why i couldn't lose the weight. I always told myself that I was doing the best I could, but in actuality I was not doing what I needed to do. I am so happy that I have decided to take this journey. I am learning a lot about myself and why I eat the way I do. I have also learned how to eat foods that are healthy and how to exercise properly. This show helps me to see that I have made the right decision to take back my life.
  3. Congratulations CupofJojo!! That is great!
  4. Hey! I am in the Raleigh area. Still pre-op, though. I just had my gallbladder removed last Thursday. Recovery hasn't been too bad. Looking forward to my sleeve surgery!
  5. About 9 years ago (I was 21 years old and about 260lbs) I went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. Apollo's Chariot had just opened. I was so excited! I was there with my sister, her boyfriend, and my girlfriend at the time. We were all set to board the ride. I sat down and began pulling the lap bar down. It wouldn't lock. One of the ride attendants came over to help. He pushed and pushed, but it still would not lock. After several attempt they ended up releasing everyone's seats so that I could exit the ride. It was humiliating! I haven't been on a ride since. I am now at my heaviest weight, 299.6, and I am going through the process to have my surgery in June. It is the best decision I have ever made! I am taking back control of my life!
