What does your pre-op diet consist of? I start my second week on it tomorrow. It is a lot harder than I expected! I have lost 13 pounds in 6 days. I have been dreaming about food at night. Lol! My diet isn't actually that bad. I get two shakes, 3/4 cup of vegetables, 1/2 cup cottage cheese and two pieces of fruit. I can also eat as many sf Popsicles or sf Jello. I think I will do ok on it since I get two eat stuff with it. I think it would be horrible on just straight shakes! Is that what yours is?Yes. Four Protein shakes a day and clear liquids. It is not fun. I wish I got to do what you are doing! You are lucky! Oh man I'm sorry! I don't think I could do straight shakes. Good luck with that! You can do it! Just think of the rewards!
My preop started on 12/27/13 and consists of 2 Meal Replacement shakes and 1 meal 1 week prior to surgery. I was upset because they really gave no guidelines so I called the nutritionist to see if I was on track, which I was. It is a new step they are putting into the program but they are not really organized on putting on paper to follow. I told the nutritionist that it should so that patients are able to know what to do.
Hi I am new here too! Think positive thoughts for your weigh in. I know it is easier said than done but it sounds like you have been working hard to achieve your goal. The diet with Protein shakes as Meal Replacements is very challenging especially round this time of year. I am going through that this week as my pre-op and I know it is not easy. Sending positive vibes your way for a successful weigh-in. Here for you if you need to chat.
Hi everyone,
Not sure where to introduce myself, so I started here. My name is Jonna. I live in Hawaii with my husband and 5 girls. I work at UH-Leeward College as a Health Information Technology Assistant and a student getting my AS in that field.
I am in the pre-op stage and my gastric bypass is scheduled for Jan. 3, 2014. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I decided that this will be a new healthy me for a new year! I look forward to getting to know you all and having a great support system.
