I can def eat more than 1/2 cup...I can prob eat more like 1.5 cups. Nothing but beef bothers me....I haven't tried sugar though. I had surgery 12/17/13 and I've lost 110 lbs since surgery. My worst problem is hair loss. I've prob lost 40% of my hair. Which I am praying will come back soon. I often wonder if I'm doing things right. My doc office doesn't give much direction for after. This is def not easy. I weighed a lot more than you guys to start with tho....and I hear the more you are, the faster you lose.

I take a probiotic with 50million organisms once a day...that really helped!! A nutritionist told my friend any under 25million won't do much.

4 months. I heard this is when it happens. That your body takes that long to catch up to that first month of little protien...and that it grows back BUT that doesn't make it any easier. My husband and friend say they can't tell....but I CAN and I think they're just being nice.

Hey guys!! Long time no talk...just wanted to share some excitement. I pulled out my "fat" jeans from November and put them on top of the ones I had to finally break down and buy.....so excited!! I promise they were matched on the other side. I'm still not confident enough to let people see how wide my "skinny" jeans still are.

I had rny on 12/17, I'm 75 lbs down since the pre op liquid diet. I have more to lose than you guys though. I heard the more you have to lose the faster it comes off. I eat between 500-800 calories a day, probably 60-70g of protien though. I have trouble getting more in. I avaoid carbs and sugar like the plague. Stacey I worry about you with the carbonation...I have a friend who's husband wouldnt give up beer and he has ulcers and internal bleeding a few times a year...it is not good for you anymore. Although I did swish some diet coke in my mouth the other day for the taste and the soda "burn" but I didnt swallow, I spit it out. Dont forget you cant compare yourselves to anyone else. We all lose differently. And stop weighing yourself everyday, it is counter productive...I now have my husband hide my scale. Im only allowed to use it once a week. Don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat, so working out you might not lose lbs but gain muscle. You guys can do it, just hang in there!!!

Yes...bariatric pal....if you swipe the screen to the right there is a nutrition tab that calculates different bits and protien is one of them. Makes it so easy

Not a very good food day....I find it really hard when I get busy at work. I usually am able to hit 700 calories and like 60-70g of protien.

Crunchy proteins!! Havent tried anything yet though.
19. AmyC123

Post op protein.

Me too...it is so crappy. Egg protien was gross. I am using a soy, rice and pea protien mix now. Not too bad but only 15g of protien. I usually add some PB2 to make it 20 at least.

I was sick for the first time since the surgery....a little bit of steak and potato...not so easy to puke now huh? It was just weird...like there was no liquid. Sorry to get graphic, but that was awful. The potatoes are the first carby starchy food I've tried. Had to have been the culprit.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time...emotions are for sure all over the place. I never thought that would be a side effect. But you're doing it right. Take it one day at a time. Celebrate the small things..like my last celebration was when I sit in a chair in a conf room and realized that I wasn't wedged it it...I actually had wiggle room!! Seems silly but it helps. Plus you're never alone....we might have all started this as strangers but I tell you all more than I tell my friends!! We are seriously all in this together!!

Isn't that the definition of cravings? Wanting and missing something but staying strong and not eating it? Thats how I define it.

I'm on phase 3 now. I can eat pretty much what I want...just no grains...basically nothing that might swell in my belly. Tonight I had chicken and made some califlower "cheesy bread". It was really good! I still do at least one protien shake a day, a Greek yogurt every day...all about getting that protien in. I did the califlower tonight because I NEED to start getting some fiber if u know what I mean
