  1. I don't want any one to get upset by this...I just find it ironic that you guys are giving suggestions about ways to celebrate an upcoming birthday drink and my next "birthday" I'll be celebrating its my sober 17th birthday in a few weeks...lol. I find it funny. I wad thinking and how do I celebrate mine....lol
  2. Blondie, Thanks for the encouragement.
  3. Ms, Would love to meet up when u had to Vegas. If I can figure out how to do private messages, I'll send u my phone number
  4. I too don't like cottage cheese. Might try some of the ideas posted. I take a chewable multi-vitamin with each meal, b-1,b-12, calcium crystals in my protein shakes, d3 and a probiotic.
  5. I keep looking for landmarks to celebrate on this marathon for life changes. This week, I can get on my wedding ring after many years of not being able to wear it and today I broke the over 180 bubble. I am 180.0, first time in I can't tell u when, at my highest I was over 210. I will need to buy new jeans as mine are way too large, even had to had a new hike put in my belt
  6. My journey has been good for the most part. I have the add fun of fibromyalgia which created more pain operatively then the surgery. I'm not losing as many pounds as I would like as quickly as I would like but I'm looking for other landmarks like retiring my first pair of pants and a jacket. Also I can wear my wedding/engagement ring for the first time in years. Look for the little victories.
  7. Gruiz, It's normal to be scared. It's the unknown that frightens me so educate yourself as much as u can. We're here for u. Stock up on liquids and get your pain meds filled before surgery shoo u have them art discharge.
  8. Also found miso soup was delicious when I was on thin liquids.
  9. Finallythin, We are in this together. It's great to have the support. I am 6 weeks post op, I think. It took a while to be able to drink as much as they wanted. Have you tried hot liquids? They relax the pouch. There are some delicious high protein hot chocolates.
  10. I went through intense crying haha post op. I don't know if others went through it, but was told that it could be related to hormones, giving up my friend-food obsession, meds missed post op-anti-depressants or a combo. Just know that this too shall pass
  11. Are you on solid food yet? I'm wondering how you fit in that much protein with so free calories. I am supposed to have 90 grams of protein and 90 ounces of fluid daily.
  12. Okay so I was really upset about the scale on Monday. Well today I could do something I have not been able to do in years. I can wear my wedding ring. I have to remember the scale isn't everything
  13. Congratulations, Piggy piggy!!!
  14. I was sleeved by Atkinson on 12/18. Did u get an idea of how many calories u should be having daily?
  15. On another note, it seems most people are told how many calories to have each day. I haven't gotten direction about watching calories. I am on solid foods but usually have at least two protein shakes a day to supplement my food as my doctor wants 90 grams of protein and 90 ounces of fluid a day. No one else seems to be taking that much in.

  17. It is the same scale at my surgeons office. I have been waking a little but nothing I think that is causing muscle gains. I thought having a husband who went through this would make it easier but honestly I think it's harder because he could eat solids at 10 days. I'm struggling with some of those. He has an office job where he sits all day and can drink at will. I'm a substitute teacher so I eat at different times every day and am with a different age group every day. Sometimes I feel like he is sabotaging me. I know u aren't eating sugar but u have to try this, even after I said I didn't want any. I have been having some difficulty with constipation off and on as well as making my protein and water the past few days. Hubby thinks it may be "that time of the month" but since my hysterectomy in June I have no idea, I kept my ovaries. I could be retaining water but I was looking forward to a decrease in the scale. Set myself up for disappointment.
  18. So today was my one month check up and I gained four pounds. I'm so crusted and sad. I know I've lost because my clothes are loose.
  19. I enjoy massages do that's my fast for myself because clothes and even sites could change sizes so quickly I don't want to invest it that.
  20. I was allowed to stay after three weeks but was encouraged to start slow. I'm one of the people that eggs don't agree with.
  21. I haven't done any pictures yet. The doctors office took one of the last picture of me before surgery. I'm excited to go to his office tomorrow for my one month appt and to get weighed. Today was hard because it was my first party since surgery. I did ok but not great.
  22. Piggy Piggy, Unfortunately, I don't work full-time so money is an issue. I am looking at the multi-generational center. Mich-welcome!
  23. I don't have the money for a gym membership. Trying to start walking and maybe some core exercises.
  24. I love the Ohyeah strawberry and cram shake, tastes like nestle strawberry quik. The vanilla is also yummy.
  25. Vicki, Taco meat works great! It's one of only a few things I can eat 4oz of at a time. I ate ceviche the other night with shrimp cut really small. It was delicious. I also found salmon salad at Trader Joe's that I am enjoying.
