  6. I glad for u! I was supposed to have my first consult tomorrow but today they told me that they dont accept my medicaid HMO (Staywell)...ughhh....i called and had them drop the HMO and put me on straight medicaid. My medicaid goes into effect on Feb. 1. I am on my second month of weigh ins and did my psych eval and sleep study next week. Im not going to let that one lil thing stop me!

  9. Im do glad that everything went well. I have my first consult with my doctor on friday. I cant wait! I already started my first monthly weigh in with my doctor and have my psych eval. Thurs. Im ready!

  11. Actually i went to my appointment and my doctor was all for it! He did the referral with no questions. He was actually excited for me!
  12. This is pretty much apart of the process....my cousin has her surgery in April and she had to do all these things.
  13. Well your bmi is over 40 and thats enough by itself with any comorbidities and you have Hbp so u shouldnt have any problems
  14. Anybody have florida medicaid? And if so what are the requirements for gastric bypass
  15. I think that would be great....a wonderful idea to have a ongoing support system like this.
  16. Hi i have medicaid in florida to and i have Staywell and it is covered. Just go to the website of the hmo that u have and it will tell u the requirements. Im sure u will have to do the 6 months supervised weightloss with your primary care doctor, a psychiatric eval and whatever other clearances that may be required by surgeon and go to a dietician and complete classes. Your bmi has to be at least 40 or above with no co-morbid conditions and 35 with at least one or two co-morbidities.

  18. I actually go to my 1st consultation with the surgeon on the 17th but i have started my supervised weightloss with my dr. after xmas and i go to my psychological eval on the 16th and to the pulmonologist on the 23 for a consult for my sleep study...im trying to get on the ball
