  1. Hi everyone! I don't post here often ( I'm always on my doctor's message board at www.lapbandforum.com which I find easier to use) but I wanted to say I really hope I can make the meeting tomorrow night! I had surgery 14 months ago, have lost 91 pounds, and am 5 pounds from goal!!! Sabrina:)
  2. I have been banded for 14 months and started having problems with my band about eight months post-op. My band tightens unexpectedly to the point I can't keep solids (and often liqiuds down). I have had two complete unfills for three weeks at a time. I was refilled about a month ago and, again, I'm having problems. I'm going to my GP for an unfill today. I'm in Canada where all medical tests are free. What tests should I have him order to see if I've had a slip too? My band was looked at under fluoro in December and looked fine but I am not convinced. I'm worried sick. Sabrina:)
  3. Love it! I've been here for months too and keep telling myself "slow and steady wins the race".
  4. Oh hey Patricia! I'm here, I'm all good, I just go to my surgeon's forum most of the time....lapbandforum.com. I'm coming on Wednesday night and will tell you all about my Mexico experience...I'm down almost twenty pounds already! The last ten days of liquids will probably be tuff cause I am starting to get hungry and won't have any fill in my band until mid-January. Dr Ortiz puts the band in empty so I don't think I really have restriction now that the swelling has gone down. I'm just so glad it's all over with- I was so scared before I went. Now I'm just trying to decide if I'll go back there for my first fill or go see Dr. Arsenau at St. Pauls. My docs were so gorgeous I think I'd like to go back just to get one last look, hahaha. See you Wednesday. Sabrina:)
  5. Ditto to what Vangirl said. She is there right now and I leave Monday!
  6. And oh yeah...this is me! IF my photo will upload. It's there if you click on my profile!
  7. Hi Patricia! I tried contacting this doctor and the email bounced back. Do you have another email or phone number for him? Sabrina:)
  8. Hi! It's Sabrina. I met some of you at the last Lions Gate hospital meeting. I decided to go with Dr. Ortiz and will be having my surgery Dec 2nd!!! I'm wondering when the next meeting at Lions Gate is? I want to make sure I surround myself with lots of outside support since I don't have much at home. I'm willing to travel to other cities in the lower mainland as well if you know of any meetings. Is there a list?
