What keeps getting you every day? I just threw out Christmas cookies and poured soap over them in the trash to be sure I wouldn't go after them. I have had to rid my house of all sweets. They aren't safe around me. And I can't watch tv commercials-they are killing me!

For those of us that have had a hard time on pre-op - are you telling your surgeon? Are you following pre op to a T otherwise or making substitutions? I read a very low carb diet will shrink the liver.

Yes!!!!! My thoughts exactly. I've given up coffee as well-so I am just one miserable human being.

Congrats on approval!! For the hospital, basic toiletries, socks, Chapstick, music player, phone and charger, cash, gas X strips, ear plugs.

I would suggest at least following up with a PCP, I don't know if you have complications if insurance would cover if it doesn't cover the surgery itself.

What was the reason for denial? Appeals can be very successful!

It's normal to leave a drain in. I've been told Dr. Lopez does a max of 4 surgeries a day. You spend 2 nights in the hospital and 2 at the hotel. I also have done tons of research and nothing of what you have written has changed my mind.

Are you traveling alone or is someone coming with you? I fly in on 7th and surgery on the 8th. Like you i am excited and freaked all in one! When do you start your pre-op diet?
