  1. I am feeling the same way, I can drink my water and protein drinks as well as I did pre-surgery. I don't chug water anymore but regular drinking feels fine to me. Glad to hear I am not the only one. Now if only the pain in my larger incision would decrease my life would be fantastic. Tomorrow marks the 7 day post op. Curious as to what the scale will say. I have not weighed myself since surgery yet. I figured I would give my body time to get ride of all the swelling and fluids pumped into me before checking the scale. Wish me luck!
  2. I am going to invest in a compression garment! Thank you!
  3. So I am now 6 days post op, for the most part I am feeling fairly well. I had some heart burn making it hard to get my Water and Protein in but I take a heart burn med in the AM and am now able to drink water just like I did pre- surgery Woohoo! My biggest pain now is standing up from a sitting position or bending over. I think the incision area that hurts the most is where they took my stomach out. Any ideas or suggestion on how to ease this pain? If it wasn't for this one area I wouldn't need my meds, I really feel great otherwise.
  4. I think I was able to pull myself around. Today drinking Water has been much easier for me.....I don't have the need to "sip" it as much. I no longer am drinking out of the small ounce cups the doctor gave me. Feeling much better, I wake up and take a heartburn med and gas ex and it has helped me consume my fluids and Protein much better. Curious as to what my weight it but not weighing myself until this drain comes out.
  5. Thank you both for the input. I was starting to feel dizzy and I went and got some Power Aide Zero, it seemed to work. My urine is not nearly as dark anymore and I feel much better. I am not at my own house, we drove 3 hours the day I got out of the hospital so a small town to be with my dad for the Holiday. So far every day a new different thing has come up that I just wish I was closer to the doctors I know. I don't even know if there is a doc in this town.
  6. Hello, so it is day 5, so far things have been fairly good. For the most part it only hurts to stand up and sit down. I have been working so hard to stay hydrated but today I feel like I could be becoming dehydrated. I have been drinking Water since I woke up and still have a constant thirst and feel more tired than I have the last few days. Any suggestions??
  7. Hello everyone...I am four days post op. Last night was my first day of being on my full liquid diet....and it was rough. I decided to only introduce my Protein drinks and see how those were handled. Lets just say it was a long night. Today while my family ate their plates full of food I had a few ounces of blended split pea Soup, it was delicious. I am having a really hard time getting all my protein...any suggestions?? Between trying to stay hydrated and getting my protein.....it seems like a full time job.
