Normal, Normal, Normal!
..I enjoyed your post mistysj...that is such great news about your diabetes. You have given yourself many more year of life and avoided the painstakingly curse of this terrible disease. I did not have diabetes pre op.. However I was so scared that if I don't drop the weighting was carrying, I would get it. I had a family member who had diabetes and to see what it did to his body was saddening. Anyhow.. Thanks for posting and sharing your new found joy in life.

1 year out. Down 130lbs ! Still some minor issues though
Talk to your dr about this gas pain. He can suggest how to minimize or do away with the pains I know what u mean about gas in the the ribs and back, I also want you congrats on your weight loss success. Kudos to you. I am 6 weeks post op and I don't take my 20 minutes to eat slowly. oh I chew fast and chew it well enough to swallow almost nothing.. But I was raised eating days and for how many years I have been doing this ..it is def a bad habit hard to break. I did buy a timer recently that I will try out. Set it for 20 .. Then watch the timer on my progression. And slow down to make the 30 minutes.. Sounds unusual for me to do that, however, I don't know how 2 break my habit. Maybe eating too fast does cause some of the gas.

Awwww Man....
Living for god , take care of yourself.. The surgery has bought down your immune system.. So take it easy while u go through your illness. Take naps when u can, drink plenty of water, and just plain sit on a couch and get some , I am sure, deserved rest . Hope that u get rid of your cold ASAP.

Plastics on you face. Would you or did you ?
Of course I would have plastics on my face if I dislike a sagging neck, chin, jowls etc. with today's technology there is a whole lot going on...search all treatment avenues available. I always told my husband that I would get one when I feel I need it. I have funds marked as my facelift money fund. Haha. I am kind of lucky cause I have really good body tone so my face or neck is not there yet for a lift. However, I have had juvederm injected by my mouth for some creases. It lasts for two years. If u do consider having one soon.. Do your homework and find a reputable plastic surgeon. Ps my sister had a facelift years ago and still looks 10 years younger with her neck and face lift.

Food Dreams?
Yes..the first two weeks I did have food dreams..I woke up in the morning thinking I had actual eaten the food. I don't have these foods dreams now., it was like for a couple of nights at the beginning. As far as popcorn at the movies. That I used to love.. Bring a snack.. Like sugar free Jello pudding with a plastic spoon. That is how I handled that. At least u have something forward to eat. Hopefully this helps...

The Holidays
My birthday was last week.. I told my family no cake or sweets for me, please ..and they. abided..we had a wonderful celebration without a dessert. I was a sugarholic prior to my surgery and I vow not to go there post op. I totally understand sweet cravings. If I want something sweet.. I try to stick to jello Sugar free choc pudding , jello, or Popsicle. Something refreshing. That is so good u maintained your weight with al the sweets around u. Seems as though u r getting back in track to continue your healthly lie. Good for u.
