Hi Wilem. I was banded 7/31/07. My cousin and I decided to do it together. She lives about 75 miles away but we keep in touch and support each other via the computer. I wanted to say hi and also link myself to your thread b/c I also want to know how to do the weight tape thing. Good luck to us!

Jo- I did the same thing with the over-doing. I drove my daughter to Wal-Mart and was walking around pushing the cart when I suddenly lost all my energy. I sat on a bench while she finished the shopping then she drove me home. Since then I haven't ventured far from home but I am able to walk around the block. My cousin is doing much better but having problems with gas. We are both pretty hungry and tired of liquids thats for sure! Dreaming of the day we can puree' some chicken haha! I couldn't imagine being so far from home! Was that by choice or was that the only option? Lauri B.

How long will you stay in the hotel, Jo? How far away are you from home?

I also was banded on Monday, here in Houston. My cousin and I did the entire process together and had the surgery on the same day / same doctor / same hospital - just an hour apart. I have had little to no problems. I haven't taken the post-op pain meds offered b/c they effected me weird in the past, I'm not sure if my cousin has taken them. She has had MAJOR problems. She is so swollen. She said she fills constantly full. She has major gas pains in back and shoulder. She's been walking like crazy, taking Phayzeme drops and using a heating pad but nothing seems to help. Its weird because we did everything identical that she would have more problems than I have. Everyone in our family anticipated me having more probs because I am so much heavier than her. I am just trying to stay positive and praying and thanking God I'm not having any problems **knock on wood** I just feel so bad for my cousin and I feel bad because we had planned to do this entirely together yet she is in so much more pain (and second guessing her decision) than me. :ranger:
