  1. So true. I have a girlfriend that went to Mexico, so did her mother and brother with wonderful results. I just chose not to. Mexico leaves me with horrible concerns.
  2. We fall back into old habits. Candy, cookies, pies, cakes and carbs. Luckily I don't have a sweet tooth. Carbs are the bad thing. Did you inow that your liver swells with fluie when we a diet high in carbs. Learned that with my 2 week diet before surgery. Omiting carbs helped me lose 1 pound a day for 2 weeks. Result, My liver shrunk 50%
  3. Now think about Mexico....what if you have complications after surgery....maybe you would have trouble finding someone in your area at home to fix what is wrong. Something to think about. Complications.
  4. Actually, waiting is as bad as it gets. The rest is gravy!
  5. You will get better. I didn't eat for 24 hours. I wanted to give my stomach a rest. Don't push it. It will get better on its own. It is so swollen from the surgery it is in rebellion! Good Luck! By the way, you will lose about a pound a day for the first month. Let that be your soothing thought for the day! YeHaaw!
  6. I am sorry you have to wait. It was a no brainer for me. My insurance would not even consider weight loss surgery. I am a self pay. I am glad you are on your way to surgery and the wait can be horrendous. I am so sorry. This will be the best decision you have ever made. I wish I had done this years ago. I have been overweight for over 42 years. I did this for my health. Too bad I waited this long. But just think!!!! You get a do over! How many people get to start over? You, that is who!
  7. I made brocolli and cauliflower cream soup from a Bear Creek Mix (which uses a powdered potato base) and it is wonderful. I have been eating it for lunch for 3 days straight it is so yummy. They have a dozen dry soup mixes you can use. I use potato soup as a base and throw all kinds of things in it to make it different. This has almost zero fat, you might be having an issue with fat. Give it a try. You should be further along than this for 5 months from surgery.
  8. It is just the anesthesia....it will go away. Some have it worse than others. I didn't have any nausea...and just lucky I guess. If you had your surgery yesterday, you haven't eaten yet so the nausea is due to the anesthesia.
  9. You had the sleeve yesterday? Cut yourself some slack. It will get better. I haven't had any of the "usual" problems but maybe I am unusual. No pain, no dumping, no vomiting, did I mention NO PAIN. Just hang in there, it will get better!
  10. I am two weeks out and eat soups, cereals, and just about anything I want within reason. Last night I had steak, mashed potatos and gravy (all mushed up with a hand blender) and it was wonderful!!! I had chicken breast, rice and cream of chicken soup mushed up with a hand blender and it was great! Tonight It will be tuna noodle casserole blended....can't wait! Yes I had the sleeve 2 weeks ago! I have not dumped nor thrown up, so if you persist, you can do this. Maybe you are eating too much at one time or too fast. That would be my observation. I use MiraLax for constipaption every day...works wonders!
  11. My name is DeeJay. I had the sleeve on October 24th and it was the best decision I have ever made. I started out at 248 and I am 5'1" and I could hardly walk. So far I have lost 13 pounds. That would be a pound a day so far. Down to 236. It took me about 6 months to research hospitals but I decided to do it at Puget Sound Surgical Center in Edmonds, Washington. There it is day surgery, out patient, as you will. There was no pain for me. I had a little incision pain the first 4 days, but taking a Tylenol would have handled that. They do the Arthrascopic surgery there and they incisions are tiny tiny. It has not been limiting at all and I already have energy I did not before. I have taken high blood pressure medication for 20 years. Puget Sound Surgery Center requires you to not take it 7 days before surgery and I haven't taken it since. My blood pressure is NORMAL!!!!! without medication. My pulse is 62. I haven't had a 62 pulse in over 20 years. It usually runs 92 to 95! This place is the best place I have ever had surgery in my life. I have had several including knee surgery, total hip replacement and a few others. BUT I do surgery well. I do not have nausea or other repercussions from surgery and this was no exception. I would suggest anyone wanting to do this, please contact Puget Sound Surgical Center. Day surgery for Pete's Sake!!!!
