  1. I also had a psych eval prior to surgery but my comfort zone was so strong and I guess I went for food for everything and I never realized it. As for trying to figure out what I need to help me through this I haven't figured it out yet. It feels like I am stuck in this rut. I keep hearing from everyone that it gets better and that is what my husband keeps telling me but hard to see a light at the end of this tunnel.
  2. What I'd like to know is how you are getting all that water and protein down???
  3. Everyday I feel like I regret having this sleeve done. I see everyone enjoying food like I used to. My husband, family and friends eating whatever they want whenever they choose to. This makes me feel very upset. Just the mere smell of taco bell sparks feelings of hopelessness and regret. Is this normal? Does anyone else feel the same way or felt the same way? Is this just a phase I am going through? It seems like I am so depressed lately that I do not want to do anything including go to work. Not as if I wanted to go to work before but that's a different story. I feel like I convince myself that it will get better. That eventually I will be able to enjoy a burrito maybe not the whole thing but I think its more mental and emotional I guess. It is very hard to deal with reality when I cannot mask it with food anymore. Does anyone have a similar story that is farther out than 2 weeks?
  4. I get a little better everyday. I feel very emotional and get so upset. I never realized how much I turned to food to cope. Sometimes I feel like I made a mistake having the surgery because I haven't found another outlet for my emotions but then I think if I hadnt of had the surgery then I would have been gorging and feeling like crap for it. So its really a double edged sword for me right now. I have good days and bad days. Cant wait to have everything back to normal when I can eat some solid food.
  5. What is worrying u? Since I posted this I ate some chili. I tolerated it and it was so good but I long for whole food lol.
  6. Does that include say ground beef or shredded chicken or like steak?
  7. Hello I am 9 days post-op and I am still finding it difficult to get food down. I want to advance soon to like chili or something but I still have issues with yogurt. I know its still early but can anyone tell me about when they were able to get thicker food down? And... about the tummy grumble... does it ever stop?
  8. Ya know I have been an emotional wreck the past few days. I am 7 days post op. I was wondering why I am feeling the way I am and the estrogen thing makes perfect sense or at least my husband will buy it lol. And you are eating meat already!?!?
  9. I am in SeReno and had my surgery on October 18th with Dr. Ganser. He was very nice and was always asking me if I had any questions. I did have to do a series of 12 visits with a dietician before my insurance would consider it. And... well I am glad they did make go because I learned a lot before I actually started the surgery classes. I admit I have been having thoughts of regret because now I cannot just go out and eat whatever I want. But then I remember... that was the problem. So hopefully things calm down with my emotions.
  10. How long before the tummy rumbling subsides? I am 4 days post op and I am wondering. Thanks.
  11. Thanks guys. Its really hard to talk to my husband about these feelings because he doesn't understand. Its nice to know these feelings are shared.
  12. I am post op 4 days but now I have feelings of regret about having surgery? Is this normal? Is anyone else experiencing this emotion? I mean I feel like I needed this to loose the weight because I wasnt able to curb my cravings and the amount of food I consumed so then I feel like I did the right thing. Like its what I really wanted. Idk I just need someone to talk to.
