  8. Yes.. I feel fine. I do not feel sick at all after eating. I am getting in my Protein first and making sure if I do eat any carbs they are always paired with a protein like I was taught in nutrition class. I lost 13 lbs on pre op diet and another 10lbs since surgery (exactly 3 weeks ago today) for a total of 23 lbs. I was just wondering why others are not able to eat much at this point and was wondering if I just have some Iron clad stomach or something. Thanks for your feedback.
  9. oh please. No it really doesn't help b/c that is YOUR surgeons recommendations NOT mine. My original question was not how to advance my diet. I was cleared for a soft diet ONE week post op and doing just fine. Thanks anyway. But seriously, is a burrito considered soft? I would consider that regular food.
  10. You keep saying people are off topic when they're answering YOUR question. Also, I think you should go reread all your posts. Your posts are always very know it all. We're all new to this, including you. Being rude when you don't like people's answers to your questions isn't going to do you any favors in the future. I was asking if others were able to tolerate this much food so early. I don't need someone telling me that everything I am doing is wrong and I am going to stretch my sleeve yada yada. Those are comments for a bariatric surgeon (MINE) to decide.
  11. Thank you Yazzy and Abarta! That helps a lot and thank you for answering the question at hand. )
  12. this forum is becoming a joke.... a lot of ppl who think they know it all. I am sorry I posted a simple question that yielded a lot of off the topic responses.
  13. well maybe my sleeve is bigger, IDK. Maybe surgeons make sleeve smaller for those who have more than 100lbs to lose.
  14. THE QUESTION WAS........ "wondering how ppl are doing few weeks out" NOT... how do I advance my diet OR am I stretching my sleeve. Please stick to the topic people. I don't need a doctor... I have one thank you very much.

  16. Well.. I will call doctor office tomorrow and see what they advise. Everyone here seems to get different instructions on how to advance their diet.
  17. You call it 'flip out' I call it having an intellectual debate. If you can't offer something intellectual to say, DON'T REPLY.
  18. Wait.. did you just say none of what I am doing is normal? What exactly are you referring too? The fact I am able to tolerate soft solid diet only 3 weeks out with MY doctors approval? I am following MY doctors advice to advance as tolerated... I am TOLERATING and I am able to eat 1/2 c of food.. perhaps a bit more without difficulty. I do not force it down and I stop when I feel restriction. Every meal I eat is packed with protein rich food! Who are you to judge me and tell me what I am doing is wrong? You are welcome to offer an opinion but don't belittle me with your condescending comments. That was rude and uncalled for. Stick around sweetie and watch me melt.
  19. That is great to hear!! I thought I was the only one. When I describe 'full' it is not the old fullness I used to feel. It is like I can feel a slight bit of restriction beginning to creep in and then I stop immediately. I am really afraid of what may happen if I force it past that 'feeling'. I could probably easily be eating 3/4 of a cup without a doubt. That is a heck of a lot less than I ever used to eat I know that much. Thanks for your feedback... that really is relieving to know that others also are tolerating a quick advance in the stages as well.
  20. You know... I never wanted to go into this with the hopes to starve my body... that is so unhealthy. I want to desperately lose this weight just like everyone else. I have always incorporated healthy food in my diet.... I love GOOD food. My problem was always portion control. If something tasted good... I would eat til I was full and as you know... our old stomachs could hold a heck of a lot of food. I am happy I am eating like this, not getting sick and still losing the weight. I just want to have the great results as everyone else. I am obsessed with hitting onederland by summer BUT you know what... if I can eat healthy, portion controlled meals this early on and that means the weight will take longer to come off... I probably should consider it a blessing. Thanks for all your input. I am going to stop obsessing about rapid weight loss now and be grateful I am doing this well so soon.
  21. ME TOO! Her and I are both nurses and we talk about it all the time. Makes no sense but they did say they think there is a correlation to what is going on with her bypass.....especially the kidney stones. She actually got septic from the kidney stones which caused a massive UTI and it went systemic... landed her in the ICU. She has had consults with infectious disease, oncologists, rheumatologists, urologists... you name it. It is so frustrating that they can't figure this out. She was doing really good for about 3 months and just a few weeks ago she started feeling run down again and they ran blood work only to find her blood counts were all low again, white and red... they had to give her another Iron infusion.. matter of fact the day I had my sleeve. She came to see me after her infusions. They are sending her for more tests. I will add you to my friend list and email you if they come up with anything. Hang in there... I know its maddening. :/
