Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

I've been stalled at 125lbs for over a month but I'm more than happy with that. I am very happy with my progress. I've recently hit my 100th workout this year (which doesn't count my afternoon bike rides and runs) This is by far the best decision I've ever made for myself. Progress pics attached.

    Protein Shakes...

I have run the gambit on Protein powders when it comes to flavors and brands. By far the best protein you will ever taste is http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/dymatize/iso-100.html BIRTHDAY CAKE This stuff is amazing. You likely can't have fruits right now but when you can you can add any fruit to this in a blender and it tastes like a cake with it in it. I do 2 scoops with 2oz of pineapple and flax seeds. It tastes just like a pineapple upside down cake. My wife had the surgery and never drank her protein because of the taste. She often asks me to make her a shake with this stuff. I've tried their fudge flavor and it tastes more like brownie batter (gets old quick) They just released a new flavor called orange dreamcicle which I want to try Also their protein is an isolate which is digested better and it has BCAA's and glutamine in it which is great for recovery.

I think we are all in a stall at this time. I go to the gym 4-6 days a week for lunch and ride my bike almost every afternoon. I have been in a stall for the majority of May as well. I'm still taking in less than 1500cal a day. I've also tracked my weight loss and found that there is a trend line that my body follows. If I lose too much weight I will stall for a week or 2 and if I gain weight I will lose it in a week or 2. Last month is the first month that I didn't follow that trend line. I have found that my bike has been the best cardio for me. I tried running but my hips are shot from being so big my whole life so I got a bike. I haven't gotten the cheezy bike suit with spandex pants or pointy helmet but I am becoming a bike guy.

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Just hit my 100lb loss since I started my journey last July. 76 since surgery. I workout using a hypertrophy training routine I got from www.JEFIT.com If you do any kind of weight training I highly recommend this site and app. They have many prebuild weight lifting programs. I can't wait until May when I go back to get my body analysis done. At 3 months I had put on 11lbs of muscle and since then I guarantee that I am over 20lbs of muscle. The weight is just rolling off of me. I live on Protein shakes being that I lift weights 5 days a week. My favs are Isopure-chocolate, Combat-cinnamon bun, nectar - Any flavor, Iso100 - birthday cake (this stuff is amazing. Add any fruit to it)

Try drinking a different protein shake. I had ordered lean body ready to drink protein shakes and for some reason they made me feel like I was going to die from exhaustion. I thought it was my surgery causing it. I drank them for a few weeks before figuring it out. Now I drink nectur and ISO pure with no issue.

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Had my 3 month and am super pleased with my results. Start weight 7/13 390 surg wt 11/13 371 3mon 305 I've been in the gym 5 days a week and where most people lose muscle after surgery, I gained 11lbs of muscle since surgery. Does anyone else have their muscle gain or loss?
  8. I would like to start jogging but my belly bounces around like a bowl full of jelly. Which means jogging only happens after I look around for no one around then watch the whole time I'm jogging. I went from a 4x to a 3x shirt in one month. I wear a 2x but it is very tight. Should I just get the 2x compression shirt and squeeze in it like a sausage?

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Had my surgery on 11/11/13. Went into surgery weighing 361 and now am at 330. I actually started my journey in July when I hit 395 and almost had to start blood pressure and cholesterol meds. I said enough is enough and hit the gym HARD. I've done this time and time again but always put it back on quick. Example 2 years ago I lost 65lbs and gained it all back in 4 months. My wife had the surgery in January and is down 80lbs. That's all the motivation I needed. I was just released to get back in the gym last week by my DR. Now it's GO TIME!!!
  10. My wife had the sleeve done in January so we wanted to get them both done to claim on our taxes. The surgery went great and recovery is happening faster than I thought. I can walk around with no issues without my wrap and have no pain...... Except for these gas pains. Started at my belly then moved to my chest yesterday. Now it's in my left shoulder. It moves to my butt sometimes but I can't pass the gas that direction for some reason. I sat on the toilet for a good while and only had 2 tiny toots. I live 45 mins from any hospital so I asked to stay an extra night. I'm sitting up and walking which helps until I lay down then it comes back. Any stretches or movements that might help?
  11. Kudos on the heating pad. It does help. Also my wife thought up something that is helping a lot also. Baby's drink stuff called gripe water which helps with colic and such. All it is is tea made with bay leaves. That helped a bunch and actually got me tooting again.
