  1. Hello, Betty Lue! I was banded August 17--and cannot wait to get my first fill--not til Oct. 1st--from Dr. George Woodman in Memphis. When did you have surgery--and how much have you lost? I am SOOOOOOOOOO ready to have some restriction--as I really can eat whatever I want--and know that I shouldn't. Those first 2 weeks were really nice when you just couldn't eat!
  2. Thank you so much! You seem to be doing great--we started out having about the same to loose--65 or so--so you are a great inspiration. Glad to know that the band doesn't work yet--couldn't quite figure it out. I suppose when I get my first fill on Oct. 1 that it will be kind of like the first several days after surgery--not really wanting to eat and being able to tell if you are full--right now I keep thinking that I should be full--but don't feel like it--guess it is cause the food just goes right on thru that band!!! Thank you again.
  3. Were you hungry during those few weeks before your first fill?? Want to know if this hungry feeling will go away w/help of first fill--and if I really get "full"
  4. I was banded August 17th and have done great--no problems so far and have done just as my doctor said. But, I can't tell when I am full and I am really hungry and feel like I can eat anything I want --don't feel need for soft foods. Will having my 1st fill help out??? First week or so I had no desire to eat and did fill full fast--guess it was the swelling--but now that the swelling is obviously down, the fast fullness feeling is gone!!! HELP!!!:help:
  5. I'm from Indianola. Had surgery week ago today and am doing great--no problems so far, but I am following my instructions to the t--not that that has been hard as I am not even hungry. Isn't it funny how the band takes the cravings away?
  6. Hello!!! Don't know when you wrote but I am just seeing it! Thanks for your response. I am self-pay--ugh!!!--but am excited about doing this! I am thrilled to hear that your sister is at goal and has stayed there for over a year! WE will do that, too! Thanks again!
  7. Thank you so much for your message! One week from today! I hope you are still doing great! BBR
  8. Deb--you are doing great, too! Keep us posted on you!
  9. Hope it is going great for you!!! I am from Mississippi, too, and am going to be banded on August 17--in Memphis. Please let me hear how it was/is! I am looking for a closeby friend to talk to--or to listen--as I am nowhere near any support groups for this! Good luck to you and hope to hear from you!
  10. Hello, sallen 21! I am scheduled for Aug 17--and of course, am a little apprehensive and nervous--have been much more so, but am kind of getting excited/ready now. Dr. Woodman is supposed to be great. He did gastric bypass on my brother in December and he was very pleased. I went to the seminar in May, I think. Dr. W. is very straightforward/to the point. I think some people may be apprehensive of him because of this--but I think he might have to be that way to people like us--he wants us to listen! Let me hear from you. Seminar is VERY informative. Good luck and let me hear from you!
  11. Has anyone used Dr. Woodman at Baptist East in Memphis? I am scheduled for surgery mid-August--anyone from Memphis?
  12. Any new bands in Mississippi? Am scheduled for surgery August 17th, 2007--and was looking for advice from someone in Mississippi. Thanks and hope to hear from someone!
