I stayed overnight and it was the best thing I could have done! My bed at home, much as I love it, doesn't recline in the way that hospital beds do, and I would have been very dehydrated without the IV fluids. I was lucky - I had a private room, bathroom, etc, that was very spacious in a quiet, private hospital - so perhaps my experience was not normal? Best of luck with your surgery!

I cheated... And I hate myself for it. I had my surgery last week (Friday), and it went very smoothly. I am only 22, which apparently helps a bit. My willpower is so bad that I am scared I am going to cheat again - even after the band. I cannot do the liquid thing for much longer! I am so sick of soup, juice and water - particularly as everyone around me tucks into hearty winter foods (southern hemisphere). All I have learnt is that cheating isn't the major problem that some seem to make it out to be, but rather a warning that you may have to work a little harder to stay on the straight and narrow after you have your band.
