  1. i'm almost 2 weeks post-op and had my 1st post dr appointment today. I lost 22 pounds already and they ok'd a move into mushy stage. What was everybodies favorite foods to eat in this stage????
  2. i tooam almost 2 weeks and have the same issue as you. I hate it!! Hopefully sooner then later.
  3. yes protein shakes are a go...
  4. So i'm 7 days post-op - and i am getting so bored in the "full-liquid" stage of my diet. Dr said i could eat clear broth soup, cream soup, jello, popsicles, pudding, milk, farina, fruit/vegetable juice. That's about it. Anything else you guys ate during this stage of diet?? I miss moving my teeth in an up an downward movement. I think it was called chewing???
  5. seems like only hrs after i posted this original message , the pain has been seeping away! I'm very happy w/ this - i might even try and go back to work tommorow or thursday - 1 week post surgery. Thanks for your comments!
  6. :phanvanMy surgeon only prescribed me 1 does of hydrocodene w/ no refills, which barely does anything for me. I have been trying to conserve it the past few days- but the pain whenever i get up is so intense. It's been 5 day and the pain has not decreased at all?!?!?! Is this normal to feel this much pain still? What did u guys take for pain? I think i need to call the DOC tommorow and tell him i need something stronger. They said to switch to liquis tylenol when i run out of the hydrocedene - but i cant see how that will work at all???
  7. FaithMD - excuse me for my ignorance - and i know you are the master of everything banded- but keep your snide comments to yourself. You don't know what i researched or what my surgeon told me. Someone your size should know it's not kind to insult someone ...
  8. Alexandra- i just got so much info so quick it was hard to remember every term. I thought it was just a tightening , so now i will remember "fill". And to answer flacaJackie's other question - seems most Beans are tolerable- refried beans (fat free) i saw are one of the ones.
  9. Hi All Been banded for 3 days now and i have to say it's getting uncomftorable to sleep at night on my back only. How long did it take the rest of you to start sleeping on your side or stomach post-op? tHANKS Brad
  10. I have seen this referenced several times on this board- i.e; people excited about getting their 1st fill. Please explain? Thanks Brad
  11. took me 5 months. seemed like forever - but now that it's done , (as of 2 days ago),i'm happier then ever!
  12. I just had my band placed on 7/19- and am now home from hospital. I live in Chicago and had my procedure done at Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, IL. Everything is going good so far - i even mangaged to walk around 3 blocks this morning and then my wife and I took our 2 dogs to the dog park this afternnon and got much more exercise. Other then stomach pains and HATING to have to sleep on my back - this is going better then expected. I'm pretty much on liquids for the next 6 weeks- and i have to say - everytime I turn on the tv - there is commercial after commercial for Taco Bell, Wendy's , McDonalds, etc, etc, etc. Driving me CRAZY!!!! How do you guys cope w/ these ads???? Anyways - i just wanted to intro myself and plan on being a long-term member of this forum. Good Luck To All!! Brad
