  1. Hi all, I am one month out and im wondering about dumping. So far ive been okay. Ive had peaches and apples with no problem. Im curious about high sugar fruits like bananas and grapes, but im scared to try just yet. I have had one terrible episode. Truly, i brought it on myself trying to test the waters with worthers candies :-) My question is... Will this last forever? Its probably for the best right now, but what if 5 years from now i want to have a piece of birthday cake?
  2. Sorry guys. TMI. But here goes. I am 8 weeks post op and have lost almost no weight. I lost about 5lbs right at first... Then nothing. I eat right... Lean meats and legumes mostly... A little oatmeal when i feel carb starved. I also have had severe constipation. I cant go without copious amounts of stool softners and mirolax and i have to resort to magnesium citrate fairly regularly. When i do go, its a very small amount and seems like it is just scootching around a big blockage. Im making a doc appt this week as im afraid im going to create a laxative dependency. In the meant time.... Could this lack of bm evacuation be causing me to not loose. I know the stool itself weighs alot when impacted, but i am wondering if impaction will actually keep your malabsorption from working propperly? Thanks for your thoughts on this
  3. I would be so happy to have slow weight loss. I can deal with slow... Im just having trouble dealing with NO weight loss. Went to a new primary care doc today and she said maybe my thyroid meds arent being absorbed because im taking them with my Vitamins and Calcium. I will start taking thyroid by itself and see if that helps. Argh.... So frustrated!!!!
  4. I have no idea. I actually feel like its even a worse situation that before the revision. With a 2yo sleeve i could loose 1/2-1 lbs per week if i had perfect behavior, i cant do that now. I am constipated all the time now and i wonder if that is part of the problem. My surgery was in mexico and i dont have a nut, so i havent really consulted anyone. Have you asked your doc or do you have theories? It just seems impossible that we could literally loose NOTHING
  5. Argh!!!!!! Its so depressing I hate that you are going through it too, but at least theres someone for us to comiserate with :-(
  6. I havent been counting calories. But I would guess between 1000 and 1500. I try no to count and weigh and measure. i used to binge eat and obsessive calorie counting was usually what preceeded a binge. If you eat between 1200 and 1300 calories how much do you usually loose in a week ?
  7. Hi all Just checking in on the revisions.... Are you guys loosing? Me... Not one bit. A few lbs the first couple of weeks, then nothing. Im bitterly dissapointed and on the verge of tears !!!!!

    Is dumping forever

Good question My one dumping episode was late dumping, meaning it took about 2hrs to set in. Other than time elapsed i dont know the difference. I will be interested to see what people say
  9. Horray for second chances !!!!!
  10. Just curious, has anyone ever tried to stop dumping with some glucose jell. If its a severe blood sugar dip couldnt you theoretically come out of an episode with a shot of glucose?

    Can you fix dumping

Thanks soccermomma What you described is exactly what i was afraid of. Seems like you could get into a bad spiral. I was just curious if any one tried. I have only dumped once, late dumping. I definately had the sense that eating something would help but i didnt try it. Thanks for the info
  13. Thanks for keeping the thread alive mlola... and congradulations Candace (nothing better than being home and getting your life back) For me... still struggling with weight loss. I'm pretty discouraged at times. Its been 1 month since surgery. If I watch every calorie I put in my body and work out religiously, I seem to be able to loose about 1lb per week. I could do that before the revision. I get really scared I just gave myself a malabsorption/dumping problem for absolutly no reason. Ugh.... I feel quite whiny when I post these thing.... sorry Are others having this issue?
  14. HI Candace... I'm so glad youre home. It only gets better from here. Hang in there.
  15. I think i actually eat more now than before
  16. Keep me posted Maybe we can learn from each other I pretty much try to follow a high Protein version of the old weight watchers core program. Its basically nothing processed or high in fat. Lean meats veggies fruits grains and legumes. It was working before surgery but not now :-(
