Hi Ginny, congrats! I was banded last year 7/19/07. Dr. Gorecki was wonderful. I have had some issues with the fill. The first two werent enough. The third fill done the ending of December was successful. Since then I feel restricted and have lost 33 lbs. Any questions feel free to ask. Good luck see you at the meetings. Last thursday of the month (2/28) and post op meeting 1st weds. of the month (3/5)

Mine was placed center of the breast bone more to the right. I have no complaints with it. Sometimes my front close bras rub against it and when I lay on my back it sticks up a bit. But overall I am very satisfied with it. My doctor asked me if I had any preferences and I told him no. He went on to explain various locations but said this would be easier access. Try to have this discussion with your Dr. so both of you can figure out whats best for you and the surgery. Best of luck!

Congratulations! It gets better, I wondered the same thing initially for about a minute because I never had surgery before. But I am grateful and very glad that I did it. Stick to this site it is very helpful, ensightful and most importantly supportive. Travel safely on your new journey.

Hi All, Congrats to all! I havent had any itching as yet, I stil have the clear plastic tape on my incisions. I got banded 7/19 and yesterday I felt the need to chew. I have viactiv Multivitamin chocolate cherry flavor and I have to admit I took more than the prescribed two a day:D. So far no real pain just a little soreness by the port. I glad you are all here this forum real helps alot. P.S. how do you put the ticker on your signature?:help:

Congrats! I have a little soreness too. Basically, I'm afraid to move but still no pain. I'm on clear liquids too till my post op this coming Weds. My port site is a tender too, its a few inches above my navel. Were you given that option?

Hi All, I just got banded yesterday, July 19, 2007. Dr Gorecki at Methodist Hospital, in Brooklyn, was just wonderful. So far I havent experienced any pain was able to walk as soon as I came out of recovery room. I will be looking forward to any advice or suggestions from my fellow lapbanders.
