  1. I am on full bariatric liquids. What is c-diff?
  2. Sorry if TMI but I've been having diarrhea several times a day since the day after discharge (Saturday), I put in a call to my doctors office but just wanted to know if this was normal? I'm having trouble with fluids on top if this so I'm afraid I will become dehydrated, please help!
  3. I am on roxicet as well and trying to ween off of it but it makes me feel sooo much better, takes the pain away and I can go right to sleep. I used extra strength Tylenol this morning and it helped but not nearly as much as the roxicet obviously. Can't wait for this pain to go away but I know it will all be worth it. Had trouble getting all my liquid and Protein in today, will have to start sipping earlier tomorrow! You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this recovery time and huge adjustment to our lives! Idea! Since Thursday was our surgery day, lets all weigh in on Thursdays and post on here to keep each other going and motivated and see each others progress! What do you guys think?
  4. The hospital I had my surgery just had a support group meeting talking about alcohol and they basically said what you said, if you are going to have a drink, don't drive. They said because we are bypass the rule changes from one drink an hour to one drink every 2 hours and even if you don't feel drunk it stays in your blood stream so if you get pulled over you will probably blow high enough to get a DUI. They also told a story about a woman who had a drink, thought she was fine and killed a pedestrian, so definitely not worth the risk! I know you already answered your question but just wanted to re-affirm for you!
  5. Getting discharged now! was getting worried because I could not pee after they took the catheter out so they would have had to put another one in! Luckily the peeing gods were with me lol! So happy to be going home in some pain but much more manageable today!
  6. Yay! So happy everyone did well! My surgery went great, was in a lot of pain earlier but I've walked around 4 times now and that helped a ton! Still have a catheter in, thank god cus I could not imagine getting unhooked from all this stuff every time i had to use the bathroom. Should be getting discharged tomorrow! Remember ladies, today was the first day to the rest of our amazing lives! Goodnight
  7. In the waiting room! Getting excited/nervous! Good luck everybody!
  8. Tomorrow!! Ahh!! just finished super cleaning my room! Spent hours in there but it's super clean! Just keeping myself distracted so I don't get nervous but I am so excited! Good luck everyone! Can't wait to hear how everyone does!
  9. Hi! Just wanted to join you guys! My surgery is this Thursday the 22nd! Can't wait hope everyone that has had surgery is doing well and on the road to recovery, it will all be worth it!
  10. Yep, I had to stop a month before and will have to stay off for a month after (my surgery is Thursday!) Apparently the extra estrogen can cause blood clots so its just for extra caution! Better safe than sorry! Though going off the pills really sucked!
  11. Today I start all liquid and I woke up all nervous because in my dream I had a salad! Hahah
  12. I also got a mani/pedi in preparation today! Haha but I've been doing a lot of cleaning and ill probably pack tomorrow! I ordered my multivitamins but I didn't order the others yet because I was confused on amounts, like at my class they said 65mg of iron and I thought that would be once a day but when I went to buy it from bariatric advantage it only came in small amounts like 25mg. Where did you guys buy your vitamins? Also I've been on the pre op diet for almost 2 weeks which includes veggies and fruit to the protein shakes. So tomorrow I cut out all fruit and veggies, only protein shakes and water. I don't have to do any other cleanse that I know of.
  13. Hey! I'm the 22nd too! So glad to have people to go through this with! I'm soo excited! I think ill start to feel nervous next week but I'm good right now . I've been on the pre op diet for a week now and doing pretty well, lost 10 lbs, it's a start . I've been overweight my entire life, literally I have never been thin so I'm extremely excited to do this! I think my metabolism is really bad, plus obesity runs in my family and on top of that I'm a pastry Chef so I've always had a love for food, and way too much of it! Can't wait to be thin! My doctor said my goal is to loose 168 but that brings me to 120 so I don't know if I want to aim for 140 or what the best weight is to be my goal. I am 5'5", any thoughts?
  14. I definitely noticed the tv commercials! I spent half my day cleaning today just to avoid the commercials and I actually ate a lot less so I guess that worked! Today was easier, did avoid a family party so I wouldn't be tempted but I think it was a good decision, no need to add temptation with lots of food!
  15. I didn't even think of sf Popsicles! Thank you! And good luck on your surgery Monday!
  16. Thank you for all the help! Hopefully these 2 weeks fly by!
  17. I thought we were only allowed to have things on the list. I don't want to mess with the surgery by not following the diet exactly. Was scrambled eggs on your lists of food allowed or did your doctor say it was ok?
  18. So my surgery is in 2 weeks! I am soo excited! I started the pre op diet today and I'm so hungry! I'm supposed to have 4 Protein shakes, any veggies (no starch), and I'm allowed a handful of fruit and 2 tbs of oil. I'm a pastry chef so there are so many temptations at work and i was great today and didn't eat anything I wasn't supposed to but it was very hard! Just wondering if anyone has tips! And what your favorite Protein shake is, I've been drinking Premier Protein, but it's a little chalky. Thanks!
