Hi all Back today after surgery and feeling much better,the gas pain is not to bad as i have ben walking alot.Port site is a little painfull still.I was in the same hotel as 3 ladies from the UK getting the bypass the same day by same surgeon so we did a lot of laughing at the bar in the evenings<br /> Mike

I got back to the UK from Belgium today Saturday feeling not too bad.Port site is painfull and the gas trying to escape but found that walking helps this a lot

Hi all well i got back home at around 12 miday on Saturday and feel pretty good ,1 hour taxi to airport and 1 hour flight back to the UK.Sipping water,tea coffee all no sugar of course.<br /> Mike

hi to all of you and thanks for your thoughts wishes and prayers,I am now one day post op and feeling fine just a little discomfort. I will see my surgeon on Friday and then fly back to the Uk on Saturday Mike

Janer i too am now very nervous,only 4 days untill i am banded and just hope it all goes well and quick recovery.Let us know how are getting on after your surgery Mike

I understand fully,i too have done so much research on surgery in Belgium and the reputation of the surgeons in WSL is second to none,my friend is 3 months post op with the same surgeon i am with and he has nothing but praise for hime and his staff Mike

Hi thanks for your good wishes,yes i am getting more nervous by the day now.I know the surgeon is one of the best there is and the hospital is super clean so in that respect no worries ,just the recovery after the op is making me nervous.I hope you can move along the road to getting banded soon. Hi Huneyduen i am from the UK and am being banded on the 26th September in Belgium i am self pay as i could not bring myself to wait for however long it is on waiting lists here in Uk .I have heard very good reports about Mr Amir Khan the a surgeon at Manor Hospital in Wallsal West Midlands.I am sure someone else will be along soon who is allready banded to answer your other question MIke x

Hi Helen nice to hear you are doing well with your band,i am now 10 days away from my op and still very nervous.

The lifestyle change is not my major concern,it is the lack of fill centers in the Uk and when you find one the cost is totally unjustifiable.

The concern i have are mostly to do with complications and possible failure to lose weight,also the pathetic back up in the UK regarding Fills and the outrageous costs involved in what is a 5 minute procedure

Awake most of the night thinking i should cancel my surgery,i have just started pre op diet which is not too bad but getting more and more nervous now.:think

What a shining example to us all................10 years with a band is awsome and truly inspiring,i am yet to get banded 2 more months but reading this thread has given me so much encouragment thank so much for sharing with us Mike
