  1. My surgery date was May 8, so I am at the 5-month mark. I've lost 71 pounds, but I've had some problems occasionally. I got discouraged, slowed down, sped up, and so on. I feel better, but I know I need to work out more to get rid of the saggy skin! I've been trying to just keep in mind that I didn't put the weight on in one day; it is okay if it takes time for it to come off sometimes. (Yes, even going in the fast lane!) Kate
  2. Hi there May folks! I am hanging in there, but still losing very slowly. I am down 52 lbs. since my May 8 surgery.
  3. I thought I was eating enough, but I tracked everything I ate for the past four days, and if I didn't push, I tended to stop at 450 calories. Wow. So, I am really pushing to keep to a meal/snack schedule and faithfully keep a diet journal. Estimating just didn't work.
  4. I'm so glad you all said something about starvation mode! Definitely helped me to break through my latest plateau.
  5. I'm trying to include my progress photos. Sorry if it doesn't work.
  6. Nine weeks out and down 46 lbs! Yay!
  7. I took my kids to an amusement park today, and I walked A LOT! I also got on a ride that had molded seats, and I fit! Whoo hoo!
  8. I worked HARD today and weighed a pound less than his morning. Water weight....I sweated buckets. It still felt pretty awesome! My highest weight was 246.2, tonight I weighed in at 204.... Yay!
  9. Thanks! It tuned out okay, just a little tummy rumbling.
  10. I ate a small biscuit today. I just wanted it. I am torn between hoping it won't cause me a lot of pain, and sort of hoping it will. If it doesn't, I suppose that is a good thing. It means I have to be more diligent in resisting the carb cravings.
  11. You have a great attitude! Thanks.
  12. Head hunger monster paid me an unwelcomed visit. I kept feeling hungry, like it was real, so I would have a very small snack. I ended up grazing all day, and it kind of upset me. I just needed to get that off my chest.
  13. Wow! I had kind of a stupidity day. First, I didn't have any water until about 2 hours after getting up. I only had a bit of protein for my first meal. By lunchtime, I was very hungry and ate too fast. Pain! Had to wait a half hour for pain to subside, so i had a little water then. I felt better so I went outside to mow the lawn and got overheated AND dehydrated. Came inside for a cold shower, and I just felt awful. THE GOOD NEWS: I made myself slow down, drink a shake and took my vitamins. I rested and then had a half cup of chili on schedule. I am feeling better. What did I learn from this? My body needs TLC, not more abuse. I need to follow my doctor's directions and take care of myself.
  14. Hey there! I had surgery May 8, and I'm down 38 pounds. I seem to be losing slowly, but at least it is pretty steady. I put on a smaller sized jeans today, and they seem a bit big! WHAT? I'm still wearing them because I like how it feels.
  15. I'm getting about 800-1000 calories per day, and 64-70 grams of protein. I'm not progressing quickly to solid food, mostly by choice. I am making good headway with the weight loss, and I see no reason slam on the breaks yet. How are you doing?
  16. I am 30 days out and down 31 lbs! Yay!
  17. I have read so many posts about the week-3 stall, that it doesn't surprise me. If you are like me, you have tried quite a few diets. My body did this stabilizing routine before, so I guess this is just the way it goes. Good luck!
  18. I had the same stall. I took a look at my caloric intake. It had increased because I was adding new food. I notched it back just a bit and increased my exercise a little, and that got me going again. Keep in mind though, your body adjusts to each phase, so plateaus are normal.
  19. I know we are supposed to stay away from sugar and aspartame, but I have a sore throat. I need a cough drop that doesn't contain either. Does anyone know of one?
