  1. I'm having surgery for health reasons mostly and then second too get my life back and be active and not so self conscious. My third reason is to find a new job. Be kind to your insurance people because they don't like it either... I work in insurance, but not regular healthcare and it sucks. Insurance is one of the most stressful jobs there is...
  2. Haha. Don't venture into the woodlands because it feels like you are going in circles even if you are not!
  3. Yeah I wish I could have gotten in sooner and would have done all my pre op in one week since my insurance had approved but the earliest surgery date my doc had was 4/8. That means this whole process from my first appointment will have taken 4 months. It only took about a month and a half to get my Lapband. I know others have to wait longer but I don't like waiting on other people....

  5. Very likely. Small businesses do get away with a lot. Also though, you wouldn't want to push the matter no matter how dumb it is so that you have a job when you come back...
  6. That does suck they can deny you like that. I'm in Texas and employers here can not deny time off that is for medical reasons. I hope you get scheduled quick!
  7. Definitely! I saw that the march dates now have a post op thread and wrote down everyone's surgery dates. I may try to set that up at the end of march for the April post op group so we can all post our experiences and updates as we each have surgery.
  8. Will do! Let us know how it goes when you feel up to it!!!
  9. Yay. We are on the same day!
  10. I feel for you penny!!! I will cross my fingers for you!!!!
  11. After my band My incisions got red and inflamed around them and it turns out I was just allergic to the glue on the sutures. I took them of with the approval of my doctor and it went away on it's own
  12. I had to do the liquid diet before my band surgery for 10 days and it was tough but I knew I had to do it because my surgeon said if I cheated at all he would know and would not complete the surgery. I have a new doctor that will be removing my band and revising to the gastric bypass on April 8 and said there is no need for a pre op diet out the liquid diet. I an doing a pre op diet on my own right now and will do the liquid diet anyway because it shrinks your liver to give the doctor more room to work. Also if the knick your liver because it's in the way, you can die. To each his own I guess and I know the importance of this and that out helps you prepare for what's about to happen to you so I will be doing this anyways.
  13. Thanks for the update! Glad you are doing well so far!
  14. Thank you for the support!!!!
  15. I will be taking one week off and then working from home the following week. I will apply for short term disability though in case of a complication.
  16. I will be having my band removed and switched to bypass on 4/8.
  17. Thanks for your post! This really gives me something to look forward to! My revision is scheduled for April 8.
  18. I will cross my fingers for you! I hope you don't get pushed back. This seems to be a lot of mental prep and would really suck to be moved!!!
  19. I had to do the sleep study with getting the band. My sleep apnea is bad and makes me extremely tired so I had no problem falling asleep plus the rooms look like small hotel rooms but then they sick sensors all over your head. They said in an eight hour period I maybe get 3 hours of sleep. Not fun... I won't have to redo it for my band to bypass because they already know I have it.
  20. Hi. I am April 8 for a band to bypass. I am also pretty nervous, but also ready to be rid of the band!
