Absolutely! Dr. Brengman & staff are incredible. Keep in mind, I DRIVE 11 hours for my fills. I won't let anyone else fill my band. You're in excellent hands. Also, thanks for the wonderful comments re: my pics :-D

I haven't posted in a while. In January, I relocated to Birmingham to attend graduate school. I still travel to Richmond for my fills! I have attached 2 pics. One is pre-surgery. It was taken last May (I was banded in October.) The 2nd pic was taken a few weeks ago. I'm now in a Medium/Large shirt ... from a XXL (18/20). It feel greats not to be confined to Lane Bryant & Ashley Stewart :-) ... I'm down from a size 16 pants to about a 10 (some 8s.) :-D I LOVE MY BAND!!! I hope you love yours too. Lisa

THANKS SO MUCH!!! It's strange but I don't see the weight loss until I look at the pics. I've hit a plateau with the weight loss though .... so I've scheduled my 3rd fill appt.

Well, it's 4 months later ... so I'll post pics ... The 1st pic was taken a few months before surgery ... the 2nd pic is the "old me" MINUS almost 60 pounds. I'm pleased! :cheers2:

Mary, I understand! I've had similar experiences with the staff at Richmond Surgical. I'm viewing it all as a test of my patience. Hang in there. Have you spoken with Joyce (the insurance coordinator)?

Hi Everyone! Here's the update ... received insurance approval ... completed psych ... completed nutrition class. Whew! I called Dr. Brengman's office to inquire about next steps, etc. I'm awaiting information to be mailed to me (I assume it's pre-op instructions.) The surgery coordinator informed me that the surgery will be in October ... no firm date though.

I've been carrying this load around for over 10 years. I guess I can wait a few more months :-) ... I have to attend the education session on August 6th. I guess I'm looking at an October surgery date. I will keep you all posted.

TheNewMe1964, Congrats! How long was the wait (for surgery) once you received approval from the insurance company?
