I'm also researching the band for the same reasons. Good luck to everyone. I have been approved for GB, but I don't want to do it anymore. I want the band instead, so I hope my insurance won't renege on the approval.

You guys are great. I'm reading and asking questions. I have been researching June of last year and thought GB was right for me. Lap band is better for me. I'll let you all know what happens.

Hi everyone, I need some insight on the lap procedure. My insurance has approved me for GB, but I am thinking that I would really prefer a LB. I have BC/BS of MD; do you think they would renege on my apporval for the other surgery. I would really prefer the lap procedure for all the obvious reasons. I want to call my insurance provider on Monday, but I am a bit apprehensive. Any words of advice? The Doctor who got me approved for GB does not do the LB procedure. Thanks guys!
