  1. You all are amazing, I'm saving this thread to remember when I'm stalling or feeling down! I'm at a two week stall after losing twenty pounds since January 1st. That fear that I will just stay here forever is a big one, so it's very inspiring to see all of you so successful months after surgery!
  2. Pre surgery salads were my favorite. I start my normal diet in one week and wondering how others have done with salad, particularly lettuce. Definitely will be heavier on chicken and egg topping to get the Protein, but should I avoid lettuce for a while? Anyone have good recipes if not?
  3. Thanks everyone! I went with a size 16 after we did all the measurements and knew 20 was a perfect fit today. Ill have time to get it tailored should I need to go down smaller. I'd rather have more to work with. Really appreciate your help!!
  4. I had my bypass 1/10 and am currently a size 20. I am a bridesmaid 5/18 and lucky me gets to guess what size I will be then and bet $200 on it! What were your dress size changes five months out? Hoping this can get me a better estimate!

  6. I went back to work today, just one week after surgery. I have a desk job but getting up and down often made me a little sore by the end. Hardest part was seeing what everyone was eating and what bog portions they ate. Being distracted I drank a full 8oz of a Protein shake plus applesauce and way overdid it. Feeling passes in 40 minutes but still a good learning of what to pay attention to. Overall glad I went in and started normal life again- then again it's my personal preference to always be working and on the go so do what feels right for you.

  9. Thanks redlock! Glad to hear you're feeling so good only four days post op! Congrats mike on the 64 ounces per day! I'm averaging 48 ounces and that takes work!! Good luck to everyone now on the losers bench. Can't wait to see how much we will all shed off in the coming months!!
  10. Surgery went well for me yesterday, went under at 7:30 and was done by 10:30. Felt nauseous from the anesthesia but that quickly faded thanks to some great nurses. Was up and walking for thirty minutes that night, it felt great considering all the back pain that the gas caused. Anyone else have that? Massages and walking were great for getting through it. Home now, discharged at one today. Gas is slowly working its way out and now most of the pain is just abdominal soreness. Feels like I did 200 sit IPS yesterday! Taking Water slowly, got heartburn drinking too fast this morning. This is now all about learning how to deal w my new anatomy. When did everyone stop taking pain meds? When's everyone going back to work? I only took off 1 week from work but thinking I may need to do more- let me know how it's gone for you all!

  12. Hi! I'm new to the group, awesome to see such a great online support system. After a year of working towards this, I go in for surgery tomorrow morning Jan 10. Getting nervous for all the what-ifs but trying to keep my positive thinking and meditation cd in mind!
