  2. Congrats! That was a quick surgery. Thank you for the tips, I'm on deck for tomorrow at 9:30am. Don't forget to join the January 2013 post-op forum. :0)
  3. Haha, if I took nothing else it would be my phone and charger so I can keep in touch! Oh, and clean chonies! But who am I fooling, I'm packing those three items plus a robe, socks, brush and hair tie, chapstick, earplugs, and sleep mask. If I need anything else my hubby can fetch it. :] BTW-what I wouldn't do for a candy bar right now..... grrr
  4. That amount of weight loss is amazing! Congrats! I'm sure you are so stoked. I too gave up caffeine rather quickly and even though I only had about 1/2 cup of coffee and maybe 1/2 a regular soda a day-I also had withdrawls. I suffer from migraines, so I had to factor that into my reaction and think you might need to also. I didn't hurl when I started liquids like you but I was really holding it back; I'm not surprised you were that sick, but sorry you had to go through that, it's no bueno! experience
  5. Thank you lovealways-the hospital just called with my surgery time. I could just pinch myself! It only confirmed it for me, I KNOW I'm doing the right thing, there is NO hesitation at all. Just wish I could be more open with others in my personal life about it. I arrive tomorrow @ 7:30am, go in for surgery @ 9:30am. Doing bowel prep today, so continuing liquids until 5:00am tomorrow then only Water and approved meds. They also reminded me not to use deoderant/make-up/perfume after my am shower the day of.

Gen (one4ozzie) mentioned this before. I'm going to start one for us too. We can keep our thread going as the Jan post-opers grow and continue to support, share, ask/answer questions, stay in contact with each other, etc. All the best-1 more day and I get to join the losers bench! Woot woot!
  8. I hear ya! I'm the day after you-really hit home today when I left work. Aren't you glad to be done with the colyte? Did you mix it with Water? Good luck and we'll all be thinking of you.
  9. I know this is the topic no one likes-but I'm about to mix my Colyte and I have to ask... did any of you mix your Colyte with anything other than Water? The instructions say water, but my husband used apple juice. I thought the nurse said juice, but maybe that was me wishing upon a star?.... Please share, oh-and any last minute advice for tomorrow or surgery would be great. Thanks, I appreciate any and all feedback. The support on here is beyond anything I ever dreamed of!!!
  10. poo! i didn't see this before my last post :[ i am so sorry you're sick but i'm glad you went to get checked out. i know how bad it feels to work so hard and find out last minute it's within your reach and it falls out of your grasp. ugh, i'm sooo feeling your pain and am scared every minute i'll get bad news like i did in may. today was my last day at work, 1st day of liquids (wasn't horrible) and tomorrow is coloyote day. wish you were joining me but i'm hoping you have a very quick recovery and they can reschedule you ASAP!
  11. you never know-you still have another day. did you talk to your dr?
  12. Hoping everything went well for today's group. A tad worried about tomorrow, my last day at work and on a liquid diet to boot! Not a bad idea to pray for everyone on my floor! Two more days for our next round, are you ready ladies?
  13. Congrats to you! Walking every 2 hours seems like a lot, but I bet he has a reason. I don't recall my husband having to walk that often when he had his surgery, but like him I'm supposed to give myself levonox injections 2x a day for 7days after leaving the hospital to help prevent the blood clots. The walking also helps get rid of the gas in your tummy which I understnad is quite painful. Best of luck and quick healing to you!
  14. I'm so thankful I scheduled two semi-slacky days at work next week before I take off Wednesday for my chug-and-run day, then surgery on Thursday. I already feel like a cross between a tornado and 10 second Tom ("50 1st Dates"); can't focus on one thing or one spot, and CRS unless it's related to RNY, or contains my name, DOB, and medical record # ....GRRR! Constantly daydreaming (cause Lord knows I rarely sleep) about joining the losers bench...right now I feel like I'll be wobbling over, too many food funerals-how many times can I kill my stomach? HOWEVER-I'm ready...sorta, still need to get some things and pack...(it's tough being a procrastinator of this level)
  15. Like I told Frogjlr-you will also do great! I don't know what works for everyone else, but you'll figure it out and face your fear-you've come so far already! Best of luck to you.
  16. That's awesome! Wednesday is my "chug-and-run" day. :[
  17. You GOT THIS! And of course, our support. Perhaps you can distract yourself somehow during the shot/needle process? My ideas are silly but you never know...you could envision something silly like an injection of slim slime going inside your body, (I know-sounds goofy) you could also practice counting something on the opposite side of the room like tiles, or even trace the lines of a picture with your eyes somewhere in the room, (that takes focus). But I'd for sure tell them about your nervousness-and because they do this so often I bet they have ways of helping you to relax. This part will all be over soon and you'll take that walk to the losers bench! Best of luck and many prayers coming your way!!!
  18. Quick check in for our Jan post-ops and the next round of surgeries scheduled... POST-OP: How are you doing since surgery? Hope you are all feeling well and are as pain free as possible. BTW-congratulations!!!!! (insert cheering noise here) MrsPolk - Jan 2 Nikempster - Jan 3 Thynnlynn - Jan 4 PRE-OPS for less than a week more (woot woot): How are all of you doing/feeling that have surgery scheduled on Monday? Preacherswife26 - Jan 7 Frogjlr - Jan 7 Truebind - Jan 7 Jmaromano - Jan 7 MollyB38 - Jan 8 Teka2011 - Jan 9 BrattyAsh - Jan 9 BigMike - Jan 9 Ducky07 - Jan 9 Ready2Smile - Jan 10 (nervous , scared it won't happen , READY to BRING IT!!!!!! ) Jessica9190 - Jan 10
  19. If I remember correctly, it's ok to take the vitamins prior to. However, at my pre-op I was told not to take them from surgery until week two after surgery. Always a good idea to check with your doctor as he/she may have a specific reason for wanting you to start early or wait until later. Good luck!!!
  20. My surgery is in Saramento, CA-not too far from home (my hubby LOVES TX). I'm mucho exited too, but affraid the shoe will drop. Boooo, that feeling bites. Have you started getting things ready for the hospital and after? I have lists for what I want to take and what I wanted to buy. But today I only managed to buy a new Water bottle, chapstick, X-tra strength Tylenol, and Biotin supplements. I already had the chocolate and vanilla whey Protein powder mix, magic bullet, small containers, and a few other things to take to the hospital. Tried shopping for liquids, Protein drinks and mushy foods as well today but I kept putting things back because I was affraid to buy something I might not like after surgery in case my tasebuds changed. Oh yah, I got some white grape juice to mix with my ah... :::bowel::: prep. Ughhh
  21. Haha, we have a lot in common Jessica9190, although I'm closer to 40 (I'm 38). Some things we do share = surgery dates, gerd/reflux, change from sleeve to RNY, and even similar height and weight! I'm 5' 6.5ish", 238.5lbs (was 251lbs at approval). BMI was about 40, now closer to 38. Just saw my ticker-we're only 5 days away!!!!!!!!
