  1. I'll look forward to comparing journeys Maria! Let's do this thing! Jen
  2. Congratulations!! You are on your way, Baby! How has the recovery been for you? Have there been any feelings/discomforts that you were not prepared for? Hope you continue to have success!! Jen
  3. I'm presurgery as well, and I have been trying to chew each bite 30 times, like I saw on a lapband website somewhere, and I can hardly make it past 10! lol I try to do a little "practice" at every meal so that it wont be as big a shock after the surgery. I don't know if this will help me, but since I have to COMPLETELY change my eating habits forever, I want to try to get used to some of the smaller changes now, if that makes any sense. I also notice that I really do wash down huge bites of food with beverages at meals. I can see how eating meals without any liquid would make eating slower a must! I need to try practicing this also, but I am drinking tons of carbonated beverages right now to get them out of my system.... I will miss sparkling water! I am so inspired to read posts by those of you that have successfully made these changes in your lives.... thank you! :-) Jen
  4. Thank you all for the warm welcome!
  5. Bamalama, Thanks for sharing your encouraging story! I hope that your journey continues to be a breeze, and that mine is too!
  6. Hello Everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I live in Las Vegas. I am still pre-op, and have completed my seminar and psych-eval. I should have my surgery sometime early in Sept. I am ready to be free of food for the first time in my life!! I know it is going to be a hard journey and a long fight but I am ready. Both of my grandmothers have developed diabetes, and my mother is prediabetic, so I am very motivated to get healthy asap! I am really looking forward to getting involved with this message board... I have so much to learn, and I am sure I will have a million questions. See you around! Jen
