  1. I am through with all my tests and am now waiting approval from my insurance. While I know that this is what i want and need, there is a little part of me that is terrified. I'd like to know if any of you have had complications, and also how you've dealt with the pshycological aspect of this surgery. If you could do it over again, would you?
  2. Thank you all for your responses. OK I'm convinced RNY is the one. I can't wait.
  3. I received a call from my surgeons office on Friday saying I needed to draft a letter of motivation for insurance. I have no idea where to start or what to include. If you've been through this, please guide me as to what should be included. I've tried to do a letter, all 10 pages of it, but don't know if I'm providing too much information, or even if what I've included is relevant. I've basically documented my life and what has lead to my addiction to food.
  4. Yes I'm 53 and starting my journey. Can't wait. So tired of being fat.
  5. Thank you all for the welcome
  6. I am almost certain that I want to follow the RNY option, but reading about the nutritional deficiencies does scare me a little. How much research did you do before deciding on RNY, and why did you choose it as opposed to the other options. Has anyone had a bad experience with the RNY?
  7. Thanks. Look forward to all the support.
  8. Hi everyone. I'm new here and wondering if there is anyone from South Africa here? I'm at the very beginning of my journey, and have seen the surgeon. next week I'm scheduled for the physician, psychologist, dietician, anaethastist and ultra sound. Really hoping to get a lot a support and encouragement from this forum. Thanks!
