Tor got a reaction from moffie in The Journey Now BeginsThanks, work in progress, best move I have made in my life, wish I had had the op many years ago.

Tor got a reaction from DLCoggin in The Journey Now BeginsThanks Vap, hopefully you mean for the better :-) I am still finding all things post-op a breeze and enjoying walking up to 9 miles a day, which I never did pre-op.
Wish I had done this years ago.

Tor got a reaction from DLCoggin in The Journey Now BeginsUpdate after 58 days, lost 47 Ibs since op, 73 Ibs including pre-op diet. Not exceptional but I eat well, i.e. plenty of protein and hundreds of strawberries made into Eton Mess (love it, very English I know but google it and try it. I use Total 0% no fat Greek yoghurt and meringues crushed mixed with chopped strawberries...great). Eat a lot of pre-cooked chicken with low fat dressings e.g. Mayo, but must eat slowly or it gets stuck and hurts, a lot! Good luck all and absolutely no regrets, mind and body feel great. Attached are pre-op and current photos, lost the beard :-)

Tor got a reaction from TinyMamiOf3kids in The Journey Now BeginsI do weigh myself daily and fill in my records which monitor steps, weight, blood pressure, waist measurement, steps and results of blood tests when done at the doctor. I know this means if I go up or platform it will bother me but I like the progress records and it has allowed me to come off blood pressure and cholestral meds as the doctor trusts I am monitoring it. An yes its an amazing adventure.

Tor got a reaction from berniec in The Journey Now BeginsThanks Berniec, sorry to hear about the non-loss but hope you don't get upset, as happens to all of us, I put on weight over the last 3 days but the body is strange, which is why you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday if that concerns you. Exercise is the key though, walk and keep walking. Good luck.

Tor got a reaction from Leslie H in 2 Week Liquid Diet Pre OpHi mine is 960 with 4 shakes a day. I have found that my brain just overloads and once on the phone I even forgot my address, really scary but I am sure quite normal. I am 8 days of 15 days pre-op and have lost 12 Ibs.

Hi. My name is Russ and I had my rny on August 8, 2011. I had been on an insulin pump for six years, had high triglycerides and cholesterol and high blood pressure. Immediately following surgery, my blood glucose returned to normal levels without any insulin or metformin. My lipids all are in the low normal range and my average BP is 115/70. My peak weight wad 327 pounds and 314 prior to surgery. I am as of 3/3/12 at 195 pounds and have gone from size 48 waist pants to currently size 36. I have to reintroduce myself to people I have known for many years. Thanks to Dr Siddiqui at Premier Metabolic and Bariatric Associates at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and the staff at his office and the hospital for the preparation and post op care provided to me.
