  1.    TornadoKnight Matt reacted to a post in a topic: Any Husker Banders?
  2. Sam, what is your secret? Dang you are losing fast!
  3. I don't know if this will help, but I have noticed the only people that compliment me are the ones that are happy with themselves. All the heavy people in my family have never said one nice thing about the surgery, but all the thin ones just rant and rave of how great I look. So, no, it's not you, it's them. Hang in there! I think you have done a great job....I think we all have by doing this. This was not the easiest thing to have done, nor the fastest.
  4. Thanks for everyone input. It really helps me out. I havn't been online in a couple of months, so I appreciate everyone who takes the time and posted back! I am very, very , happy I did this, sometimes I wish I had the gastric by-pass, cuz it's so much faster.....but god bless what has been done......
  5. It seems like I eat all the time. I work afternoon's (3pm-11pm) I take a sandwhich to work, and carrots with ranch. I eat carrots all day, and then half my sandwhich. It seems like I am always eating. I am hungry alot, I just can't eat much at once. I feel this is going really slow, but I am very glad I got banded.
  6. I am wondering how everyone's weight loss is. I have been banded for 5 months now, and have lost 50 pounds. I didn't think it would be this slow. The doctor says I am doing very well, but I don't feel I am. I feel great, no pain, or anything. I had my first fill about 3 weeks ago. I don't feel too restricted, only when I eat bread or certain foods. I would like to know how much weight and how long it took you guys.
  7. I had all my wisdom teeth removed, about a month after being banded. I had to take all the medicine afterwards, that didn't bother me at all, but the pain did! Dang, I thought I was going to die. Cuz of the wisdom teeth. Medicine went down just fine and it was only 1 month after surgery. Good luck, I hate the dentist!!!!
  8. 21,000 in Nebraska. United Health Care Insurance paid for almost all of it.
  9. I was totally depressed after surgery. It is hard to get used to not eating a lot. But with time it gets better with every pound you lose. It is mind over matter. The surgery was the easy part. The mental challange is hard for me. But it is worth it! Good luck.
  10. All I drank was Carnation Instant Breakfast. I did that for 10 days, 5 times a day. It is really hard, cuz you will be real hungry, but it is something they have to make you do. They told me to soften up my liver. I made, so can you!
  11. That is great! Before surgery, I would gain up to 8 pounds for that time of the month. I am so happy for you!
  12. I lost around 30 and drop one pants size, almost 2.
  13. Good Luck, good luck. prayers are always with you.
  14. I drink Amplify, from GNC. It is very good. I bought the chocalate flavor, and I mix it with milk, skim no fat milk. You have to mix it real well, to get the chunks out, I use one of those hand blenders. If you go into a GNC store, they can mix you samples and you can decide what kind you like. It taste just like chocalate milk. I still drink them when I'm hungry. Good luck.
  15. That is hilarous! I would totally use it, just to see people on the outside, looking at their makeup or hair or whatever! How funny!!!!
