  5. The only Protein shake I could tollerate was Muscle Milk. I am six months out and still have one for Breakfast with Matrix Protein powder in a blender with ice. Makes it very thick like a shake. Lost 79 lbs so far. First month was only 20 - not sure anyone loses 50 lbs the first month.
  6. Does anyone know if skin surgery after weight loss surgery is covered at all by insurance in the United States. I've lost 77 lbs so far. Surgery was January 2014 - I still have another 40 to go but the hanging skin on my belly - Yuk. I know you have to maintain your weight loss for a year before any skin removal is even considered, but I just wanted to get an idea of costs involved. Thanks.
  7. Hi, I'm from Queens. Sleeved in January - 5 months out have lost 74 lbs. (Started at 258 - now 184) It was the best thing I ever did. I have been heavy all my life. I am going to be 50 soon and can honestly say I am the happiest I have ever been. It was a big adjustment and a little difficult at the beginning but now I've adjusted and I eat small portions throughout the day and the weight came off quickly the first 3 months and now it has slowed down - but still dropping about 5-7 lbs per month. Good luck to everyone.
  8. I can totally relate to not stressing at what the scale says. I'm 5months out and have lost 74 lbs since the start of my journey (54 since surgery, 20 prior) As soon as I was weighed 2 weeks after surgery I was so excited getting on the scale it was like 24 lbs down. Then the weight still came off, the following months another 10 etc. This past month and a 1/2 the scale went down about 1/2 to 1 lbs per week. At first I was really upset. But then I realized I am 4 sizes smaller in clothes, have more energy then ever. I am the weight I was before I had my kids 15 years ago - so I really had to realize it';s just a number. We all need to really concentrate on how far we've come and the journey is still going on. So good luck to everyone!
  9. Anybody get stuck? Sleeved Jan 2014 - Lost 51- lbs so far. But have been stuck for the past 4 weeks. Is this normal?

  11. OMG I am hungry all the time. I have a high Protein greek yogurt before I leave for work, then around 11am I have a high protein shake, then at 3pm I have another high protein yogurt. When I get home I have dinner - protein like chicken or fish then small portion of sweet potato w/ a little veggies. I should be full but like an hour later I want to munch on everything. Does anyone have any this problem? I want salty, sweet anything - It's really hard. I'm really tring but I often have a handfull of goldfish crackers, which in another hour leads to another handful or another something. Any suggestions??? What are some options for healthy Snacks?
  12. Hi I am havingmy gastric sleeve at North Shore LIJ in Manhassett with Dr. Gadaleta on January 22, 2014. Has anyone had their sleeve done with either this doctor or this hospital? I'm hoping you only have an overnight hospital stay. Can anyone confirm this?
