  1. I'm already in it, if you don't get an invite by later tomorrow, in case she's absent over the weekend, message me your email and I'll make sure she gets it as she is very active there. :-) Or some groups allow members to invite so I could try that as well. :-)
  2. I keep checking to see if I have a surgery date buddy and close but not quite. Today the 'light' went off and I realized that it's wishful thinking. My surgery date here in Canada is Thanksgiving Day in the states, lol. November 28th.. well I am very happy with it just the same :-)
  3. My understanding is if your doctor deems that the extra tummy skin is a health issue and refers you then it is covered...i don't think it's linked to how you lost the weight.... make a call to find out for sure or ask your doctor here ot look into it for you...:-) good luck
  4. Cheers all, to feeling icy for a change! :-)
  5. Not sure about the percentage thing here in Canada. I just know that one year I was able to claim Jenny Craig food because I had a doctor's note saying I would benefit from losing weight dated before I bought it.... Getting one again for the liquid diet, so we'll see.... Awesome on your progress! Can't wait to get there.... Considering Mexico for some future plastics..but with Alberta covering tummy tucks with doctor backing if for health reasons, should probably get on that wait list now...no idea what they're like here
  6. I'll be 40 on the next one too... I'm 5'4 and will be happy around 155lbs... I remember being 144 in high school so will be very surprised if I hit it again now... (I wasn't overweight then) I'm 238 now.....
  7. You are only a week out, I imagine you are still going through mental withdrawal...Also you may want to take a minute to read dirty little secret post...No one is perfect in this journey.. just give yourself a break and some time :-)
  8. November 28th here. :-) My liquid diet is 3 weeks. Oh my!
  9. November 28th here. :-) My liquid diet is 3 weeks. Oh my!
  10. Thank you.. I'm sorry you had such an awful experience here.... I definitely had to jump through hoops...I had to drive 3hrs, one way, to Medicine Hat 6 times in the first 10 weeks when I started.. as well as taking all the couses, workshops and psych evals, both here and in Lethbridge.. I will admit that being so far away, they do stack my apointment deck so I can come in less often now that I've 'proven' my commitment..but i still have phone apt's regularły with their 'team' I wish other centers gave the same positive experience, but I fear instead this one will have the waiting list of most sooner than later.. Good luck everyone on your funding and refunds, I hope they are both favourable and fast..
  11. Thanks for your reply. I am incredibly blessed as I got on at the new center in Medicine Hat. It did take 7 months from the time of my referral to get a call, but had my 1st apt in March and will have the surgery in November. So if anyone is near Medicine Hat try to get into that one.... All of the Mexico sleevers just made me start to second guess why ppl are choosing elsewhere and make sure it's a time issue and not a quality issue. I'm sorry they won't provide aftercare that's just wrong..They set ppl up to have to choose alternatives and then deny them because they do...very wrong... I'm glad you're doing well and hope your primary physician brushed up on vsg so you stay that way :-)
  12. This may be a silly question, but are you going out of country because of the length of waiting lists, or is it a surgeon preference? I am only asking because on a referral to available bariatric clinics, the surgery in alberta is covered..so just trying to get a perspective on it...
