    Alcohol?

I enjoy alcohol. I loved various IPA's (type of beer). I am sure that love got me some extra poundage. After surgery, I stayed away for 3 months. Now, the same beer with the carbonation hasn't been that attractive, plus, taste has changed. Red wine, ok, but again, not the same. I have found vodka either served bloody mary style or with cranberry juice is ok. I do find you feel tipsy faster and I would not drive even with one. the best part of the drinks I just listed, you can go virgin and nobody would know. You also start to count the calories and make choices. Again, I like to drink, I would never say don't, it just becomes harder.
  2. I would like to take the fiber gummies. I find post surgery it has the same effect on me. Question, I was told to stay away from gummies. thoughts?
  3. I found that when I started to consume "real" food again, my brain wanted to eat more and I did not really appreciate a "filled" feeling. That one extra bite led to "sliming" and then throwing up. I found early on, just measure 4-5 ounces and eat slowly. Then wait, if you feel good, eat some more. It has worked so far. And, as someone who was sleeved on 9/24, the real food still needs some form of "lubricant" at this point, whether gravy, sauce, mayo, etc.
  4. I am four weeks out and I really want to start doing something. I was told to wait six weeks. Yet, at support meeting, many started earlier. What is the consensus here. I feel absolutely great.
  5. I was sleeved on 9/24. No problems with protein, I actually like the shakes. I get the bariatric vitamins but after chewing, the powdery residue gets to me. I am having trouble with my solids. I don't feel full until it is too late. It is so hard to get your head on the same page with your stomach. I am trying to downsize the amount I eat. but, greatest thing I ever did. not sure if the weight loss or the nasal B-12, but I feel great with no fatigue. Down about 32 pounds.

    New Jersey Sleevers?

Dr. Strom is sleeving me on Sept. 24 at Mountainside. I am expectantly nervous, just looking for some insight on hospital stay, how are you doing, etc.
  7. You know, it is funny, if you mention alcohol, you hear about empty calories, blah, blah. I know they are emply, but I love an IPA, such as Sierra Nevada Torpedo. I am getting sleeved on Sept. 24, so I am worried I will miss it too much. You still have to live your life.
