  1. I had my lap band removed 5 weeks ago and at my post op visit I was told I needed to lose 50 pounds before my doctor would do my surgery. Well I weighed in on Friday and I am down 30 pounds in 4 weeks. The nutritionist was so happy with my results that she told the doctor that I am ready for surgery. I will hopefully find out on Monday or Tuesday my surgery date.
  2. It is in East Mesa. Congrats on the weight loss!
  3. I am really hoping to have surgery in November. I had a followup this Friday. So far I have lost 16.4 pounds of the 50 pounds the doctor wants me to lose. I have been on the pre-op diet for 11 days now. I was last weighed on day 6. I hope to get these last pounds off fast. I don't know how much more of the liquid diet I can take.
  4. I lost 16.4 pounds in the first 6 days of mine. I am on it for about 4 weeks or so. I have to lose 50 pounds before they will do surgery.
  5. I have Aetna...it went faster than I thought it would.
  6. Mine was pretty quick. Once they got all the documents they needed it took less than a week to submit to insurance and then it took me another week for approval.
  7. Dr Emil Graf at Banner Gateway Bariatric Center.
  8. I lost that in 6 days. I am on the preop diet, so I have 4 Protein shakes a day, unlimited sugar free Jello, unlimited sugar free popsicles, broth and Water. That is all I eat. It is tough, but worth it.
  9. I am so excited...I am on my mission to lose 50 pounds so my doctor will do my surgery. I went and weighed in today and I lost 16.4 pounds. I could not be happier, I just hope it keeps going this way. My next weigh-in is next Friday!
  10. He is a Physicians Assistant. Go see Dr. Faust...he will approve it.
  11. Dr Faust approved mine and encourages it. What doctor do you have?
  12. My PCP is in Mesa off of Basline and Coubtry Club. I have been going to him for 13 years. His name is Dr. Dean Faust at Southeast Valley Medical. 480-969-1446.
  13. No solids at all. I get 4 Protein shakes a day, unlimited sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles, broth and Water. That is all. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
  14. Day 4 of liquids is done and I must say that today was much better than yesterday. I did have some pretty bad nausea today and was dizzy, but it seems that has subsided. Onto day 5 tomorrow...and Friday is weigh in day. I wish 50 pounds could be lost in one week, but I know thats not going to happen.
  15. Good luck...wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery.
